“great hotel but poor service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

This is an amazing hotel. It is right on the cliff - we enjoyed a glass of wine from our room while we watched the sun set in the valley below Ronda-it was truly special! The location is perfect - you can walk everywhere in town. The service, however, was pretty terrible. The person who checked us in seemed pained to have to deal with us-we stood in front of him for at least two minutes before he even spoke - and he was just shuffling paper around. I would recommend staying here but although the price tag would suggest good service, be prepared to understand that you are paying for the views.

As with most Paradors, this one is ideally located on a clifftop right next to the Puente Nuevo, fantastic views and immediate access to Ronda's highlight attractions. Furniture could use a little freshening up. Ask for room 221 (top floor, corner room with huge outside terrace) which is probably the best located one.

The enterance to the hotel is unusual and the interior very peaceful with many seating areas. Check in was very efficient. Being an amigos member we were upgraded to a room over 2 floors with 2 terraces and so lovely. View was beautiful and of course location is unsurpassed. Room was very quiet and sleeping was so comfortable. Waking up before dawn and watching the sunrise over the gorge is very peaceful. Breakfast was varied with a good choice and served by friendly staff. Place to leave luggage if you need it stored whilst out looking around.

We went by trip advisor recommendations and chose this famous hotel. the front desk welcome was cold, the rooms were big but noisy and not tidy (one room out of two).
location is central but Ronda is tiny so anywhere is good.
Breakfast was not bad but the noise outside at night was not great.

Room Tip: Only facing the back if you want a good night sleep

WOW I must say this place has an amazing location. Right next to the bridge and over looking the gorge. We had rooms overlooking the gorge and it was magical waking up and looking out at the view right out the window. The hotel is also next door to the bull ring ( Plaza de Toros de Ronda) which is also worth visiting during your stay. The hotel has a pool our the front which would be great to use in the summer months when the weather is hot.

The hotel itself has a very nice lounge area where you can enjoy drinks and tapas after 5.00pm in the evening. We sat here and had a drink and some yummy partridge pate and bread and wine. They also have great sandwiches. During the day the hotel has another café/bar downstairs with the same lounge bar menu and a restaurant. My son loved the bacon and chicken sandwich and ended up eating two of them.

The rooms although worn - scratches on wooden floor and wardrobe are still large and good to stay in. Our two rooms both had a sitting area near the windows leading out to a small patio which overlooked the gorge or pool area. The beds and pillows were great - I had the best sleep in all the hotels in Spain that we had stayed in. I wish we had booked to stay two nights.
Breakfast was a buffet and was well done. No problems for us at all.

For the price and location I did not have any problems at all.

Great location with fantastic views of the gorge. Hotel staff were friendly and the rooms very clean. Breakfast was AMAZING!! The hotel allowed us to leave our car in the garage after checkout so we could continue walking around Ronda. I recommend taking a tour of the bull fighting ring Plaza D Toros and make sure you ask for the recorded tour. They don't mention it when you pay so we didn't realize it was an option until after we were almost done. I don't have even one complaint about the hotel. Overall it was a great visit to Ronda!

This hotel is in one of the most spectacular settings at the edge of a cliff. every room has a balcony overlooking the gorge and the views to town and the mountains beyond. The rooms very large and clean and well equipped with furnishings seating areas and terraces or balconies.
The breakfasts is quite nice. The only drawback is if you expect lots of service in a hotel this hotel doesn't really provide that.
