“A great old-fashioned hotel!”

Great hotel, just a bit out of the city centre, but just less than 10 minutes walk. The hotel and staff are a bit old-fashioned, but the room we had was very up to date.
The staff at the reception was very helpfull. We asked for a room at the first floor. Only a suite was available (price EUR 180,00), that made us a bit sad. Which the staff solved to offer us the room for the standard room price!
See pictures to picture that and especially the great view from our immense balcony!

“Comfortable old style hotel with superb views”

Hotel on edge of town centre - walking distance - with car park. Rooms over gorge have wonderful view and the rooms are spacious, with separate sitting area and a balcony. An old style hotel that has been modernised to provide modern facilities. Breakfast buffet average with standard aimed at large groups of tourists. Otherwise comfortable hotel.

“Horrible hotel”

This is what was once a grande old hotel. The grounds and views of the mountains are lovely but the rooms are horrible. They turned off the a/c even though the termperatures were in the 80's but then lied and said they hadn't. So I ended up sleeping on the balcony outside. Which in anycase was more comfortable than the old old beds with short sheets. The bathroom was tiny and old. The service was non-existent. Do not stay here!

Hotel is clearly past its prime. Beautiful location, great view, but the beds were uncomfortable, the hallways dark and the staff was not pleasant or helpful. My family and I stayed in 5 hotels in southern Spain on our vacation, and the consensus is that this place was the biggest disappointment.

“Faded glory but good position and views”

We booked to go to Ronda at short notice so didn't really have a lot of choice.
This hotel is in a relatively good position in the 'new' part of Ronda, north of the Puente Nuevo. It's in a quiet residential area, but in walking distance of all the sights. Situated right on the edge of the escarpment, the views to the west from the second floor room we occupied were fantastic. (You need to ask for a room on the higher floors on the west side of the building). There are nice gardens and an outside pool - which had closed for the season when we were there. The hotel has it's own (free) parking, unlike the majority in the old quarter.
Unfortunately, the hotel decor, which at one time was probably quite grand, is starting to look worn and faded. The room was a reasonable size by Spanish standards, with a smallish bathroom and a good sized terrace/balcony. If you are a light sleeper, take earplugs as the noise of the foot traffic (and creaking floorboards!) in the corridor wasn't really stopped by the old wooden door of the room. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room and they don't provide free bottled water. Drinks from the in-room fridge aren't cheap, so suggest you go to a local shop.
As a base for a short visit to Ronda then, depending on what price you pay, the Reina Victoria is probably OK but not outstanding.
