We booked to go to Ronda at short notice so didn't really have a lot of choice.
This hotel is in a relatively good position in the 'new' part of Ronda, north of the Puente Nuevo. It's in a quiet residential area, but in walking distance of all the sights. Situated right on the edge of the escarpment, the views to the west from the second floor room we occupied were fantastic. (You need to ask for a room on the higher floors on the west side of the building). There are nice gardens and an outside pool - which had closed for the season when we were there. The hotel has it's own (free) parking, unlike the majority in the old quarter.
Unfortunately, the hotel decor, which at one time was probably quite grand, is starting to look worn and faded. The room was a reasonable size by Spanish standards, with a smallish bathroom and a good sized terrace/balcony. If you are a light sleeper, take earplugs as the noise of the foot traffic (and creaking floorboards!) in the corridor wasn't really stopped by the old wooden door of the room. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room and they don't provide free bottled water. Drinks from the in-room fridge aren't cheap, so suggest you go to a local shop.
As a base for a short visit to Ronda then, depending on what price you pay, the Reina Victoria is probably OK but not outstanding.
