“Our favorite place in Spain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2011

The hotel Don Miguel is simply in one of the most beautiful locations in the world. We loved the city of Ronda, and the hotel is directly on the square and the bridge. Don't miss dinner on the outdoor patios that perch over the canyon and are literally touching the bridge. The food was some of the best we had in Spain and the service was excellent (with better prices than the Parador).
Words and pictures really don't do this city justice, but I highly recommend it to anyone travelling in Southern Spain. Even if you cant stay the night, a daytrip is well worth the drive from Sevilla, Cordoba, or the Coast.
As for the Hotel, The rooms were very nice and the staff was great. The prices were surprisingly low for such an amazing location, and it wasn't at all "touristy".

Room Tip: We don't recommend top floor rooms, as the elevator motor is a little noisy and located close to...

The rooms are clean and comfortable, but the reason to stay here is the value and view if you can get one of the rooms overlooking the gorge and bridge. The breakfast patio has a great morning location with that particular view. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: Request a gorge and bridge view.

The hotel is in an excellent location on the cliff edge with great views of the bridge. Its very close to the bull ring (recommended!) and Ronda actually has great shopping, my wife was pleasantly surprised with this.

The front desk staff were efficient, baby cot was provided on request (do recommend mailing ahead the day before as the little comment box on booking sites was not noted).

Breakfast very nice with great views.

The room is quite basic and a bit drab, though the bathroom was decent. Value is about right though as it was one of the less expensive places we stayed. So if you are after just the basics and to be fed well at breakfast, this is a decent choice.

We've learned that staying by a Parador is a plus at more modest rates! The Don Miguel was right at the "new bridge" with several terraced dining areas with spectacular views.

The room was minimalistic, but with a great window view of the gorge and bridge. (We didn't pay the extra for this but lucked out.) The window was opened when we arrived, which made it cool but also fly-ridden. The hotel is actually two buildings combined so it's an awkward, inefficient trasverse of up and down stairs and elevators to get to your destination.

Breakfast was good and, again, the setting on the terrace was priceless.

Like most Spanish hotels we experienced, the service was basic--you have to specifically ask to get anything beyond the basics. We had a hard time getting online and ended up working in the lobby with a special code provided by the staff. Construction is happening on the road next door, which only meant car parking was a little further away.

The views of the gorge and bridge from our balcony were gorgeous! The room was quiet and very comfortable and with in minutes of the old city, shopping and restaurants. We enjoyed hiking into the gorge and also the food at the hotel restaurant was excellent as was the breakfast. Perfect location and experience!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the gorge

Totally worth the money if you can nail down room 204 or any of the rooms with an outdoor terrace!! I think there may be only 4 of these. Staff was nice. resturant was one of the best we ate at in Spain. We are 30 year old, female Americans and had a great time in this sleepy little town. Take a day hike and go down in the gorge. No hairdryers at the hotel. Meet other Americans at Huskies Sports Bar.

Room Tip: room 204 or any room with an OUTDOOR terrace

The hotel has many of its rooms facing the famous gorge and bridge in Ronda. It is right between the old and the 'new' towns and is perfectly positioned for sightseeing, shopping and walking around Ronda.
We had twin rooms with ensuite. They were clean and comfortable and the water pressure was very good in the shower. There were blamkets available for the beds but, be warned, when the weather is cool, as it was on our visit, there is no heating - I was a bit cold! The perfect hotel for Semana Santa week - the processions pass right outside.
There is a lovely terrace for a drink and a restaurant too. I'd go again.
