“One of my fave ruins, very underrated”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

This was my 2nd favorite ruin after Machu Picchu. It is a drive to get there and a bit of a workout to walk around. A must see!

“Very cool Incan site”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

We were the only people here when we visited. This is a pre-Incan laboratory of sorts to see how plants grow in different temperature ranges. It consists of a series of ringed terraces that go down into this valley. Super cool. Do not miss it!

“Great half day trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

Booked a last minute trip through a local agency in Cusco, and saw Moray, Maras and Chinchero. It's a bit of a drive, and you can hike around for some great photo opps once you finally arrive. Cheap, and well worth it!!

“It's Cool, but Let's Not go Overboard with the Praise”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

Like most people, I combined Moray with a trip to Maras (the salt flats). If you take a private cab from Cusco (which I recommend if there are 2 or more of you, because it's only $60 and a regular group tour runs $25 pp anyway), your whole outing should take about 5 1/2 hours.

It is interesting to realize the science behind Moray. The Incans (or pre-Incans) used this place for agricultural experimentation, because they realized that there were different micro-climates at each of the plateaus.

For a 10 sole admission charge, why not come here? It's a cool day trip. But let's not go overboard with the praise here, you're not going to spend more than 30 minutes at Moray, because after you take a few pictures and walk down to the bottom, there's really nothing to do here. It's just something to say you did. Unless you had an extra day to spare on your trip, it's not necessarily a must-see destination.

“Worth the trip!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

Combine this with a trip to the Salinas salt-fields and you'll have a nice 3-4 hour (roundtrip) adventure out of Yucay or Urabamba. The architecture and surroundings are exquisite.
