“First class service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2011

We have been to Bali 5 times but this is the first time we visited Bali Masari Resort & Spa. The Manager was on hand to greet us on arrival & he was there again to say good-bye. All staff at the Resort are friendly, courteous and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and extremely clean. Service really excellent. We will be back.

Room Tip: For older people or if you have trouble climbing stairs, it would be advisable to choose a villa nea...

Called here after horse riding trip, during our bali tour. Decided to change our plans and stayed here for 5 nights. I really wish we could go back, staff second to none, invisible until needed the kids could go to the pool on there own aged 10 & 8 with no other guests around but knowing they where safely watched by pool attendant. villas first class food great if i won the lotto i know where id go to relax and think things through.

The most amazing place. We were due to stay here 2 nights but ended up there for 4. They made a birthday cake for my partner, got upgraded for no extra charge and the offers at the spa are great. The hotel manager was friendly and had a great selection of Steven segal movies to watch!

We stayed at Bali Masari in June 2011. This was our second trip to the resort and it certainly won't be our last.
The location is ideal for those looking for a quiet break in a peaceful and luxurious setting. If bright lights, bars and clubs are your reasons for going to Bali you're in the wrong place.
Only about 30 minutes drive from the airport on the way to Ubud will find you at the large, open air reception that overlooks the enormous main swimming pool. The staff are polite and attentive and nothing is too much trouble for them.
The resort itself only has 12 villas. 8 have 2 bedrooms and the other 4 are singles. Each has it's own private plunge pool and balcony overlooking an impossibly lush valley with a small, fast flowing river at it's base.
The villas are beautifully appointed with indoor/outdoor bathrooms, satellite TV, mini-bar, kitchenette and very comfortable king size beds.
The restaurant is very good with a wide range of Western and Indonesian food. I celebratred my birthday during this visit and my wife asked the staff to prepare a special dinner.
Well, we asked for special and we got it, Balinese Duck marinated in spices, wrapped in banana leaves and slow roast for 24 hours. It is one of the best meals I have ever eaten. This was part of a 3 course meal served at a special table set up beside the swimming pool. The entire area had been decorated in traditional style for the occasion and they had even made me my own Birthday cake.
The price for all of this? - US$50
We visited the spa twice during our stay. The setting is wonderful and the massage is incredible. Try the 1 hour traditional Balinese - Great.
The resort can easily arrange transport for you to anywhere or organise hire cars, scooters etc. but the walk into Sukawati is a leisurely 20 minutes along small village lanes where the locals will wave and smile and try their English on you. If you can respond with a few words in Balinese you will instantly gain new friends.
The reward for the walk is a small town with a local market and a more touristy (but well priced) arts market as well as countless small shops and Warung style restaurants.
Trips to Ubud and Sanur for the day or for dinner are simple, cheap and provide a change from the resort menu if you're staying for more than a few nights. Ask the resort to arrange for "Astra" to drive you. He is exceptional. We have now had him as our driver/guide for 3 years. He lives a few hundred metres from Bali Masari.
My wife and I never go on holiday to the same place twice (there are far too many places to in the world to visit in one lifetime), Bali Masari is the exception. We'll be back again next year.

Room Tip: All the rooms are very private with views.

We got this resort through RCI and we were not disappointed with the villa assigned to us. It was a Jempiring - two-storey villa that was really spacious. The main entrance is on the upper level where the dining area, partial kitchen and living room area are located. The master bedroom is also on the upper level, as well 1 toilet and bath and outdoor shower.

At the lower level you can find bedroom no. 2 with 2 single beds and also a toilet, bath and outdoor shower. Outside the lower level is the private plunge pool and lounge.

TV's were located at the living room area and bedroom 2. There's also a DVD player in the living room. The cable TV channels aren't very good but you can borrow (for free) some movies at the reception - thank God for that because my son didn't give me peace because there was no Disney channel. When he saw the kiddie DVD's, he was very happy.

The living room and master bedroom are facing east so you get a nice view during sunrise, especially with the trees outside. The villa is overlooking the Petanu river which would have been a great view if it were not for the garbage along the riverbank on the other side of the river. That was disappointing.

There's free bottled water (4 small bottles per day) and free Wifi. The wifi is really slow when you are in the villa but it works okay in the reception area.

The pool was also very nice, especially that it had a nice view.

The food in the restaurant is good, not a lot of selection but still okay. Prices also are just average.

Check in and check out were fast. They required Rp100,000 deposit and that's the lowest in all our RCI bookings.

The service was really great, everyone was just so polite and so helpful. The villas and resort were really clean. In the early evening, housekeeping comes in to switch on the insect repellents.

The resort is far from the beach, it's on a hillside so it slopes down. The main lobby/entrance is on the topmost and the villas slope down. We were at the bottommost villa so it was kind of a long walk going up and down to the lobby (like 5 storeys) or restaurant or pool. If you have a heart condition, this may not be the resort for you. If you are asthmatic like me and my son, you may need to bring some of that medication because going up and down the stairs can be stressful.

All in all, it was still a very pleasant stay at this resort. It was quiet and peaceful. It's a great place to relax. You have everything you need in one place and you can just take it easy.

We arranged airport transfers with the hotel via email. We also arranged trips to Kuta and Denpasar with them. The resort is far from the city/town centers and there are no public transports so you need to rent a car with a driver. For day-long tours, we used Dewa Marco (www.discoverbalitour.com , www.dewamarco-tour.blogspot.com).

The laundry service is that of a hotel, so it's very expensive. What I did was to go to Sukawati and had our laundry done there. There's several laundry shops there. I bring it in the morning when we leave for a day tour and they either deliver it to the hotel (additional Rp20k) in the evening or I pick up the following morning.

BTW, Sukawati Market is very near and it has the cheapest prices.

-You can watch only one channel from the TV (AlJazeera) because of bad signal. The staff was trying to change the antenna cable but it didn’t help.
-The safe-deposit box was broken. The staff was trying to fix it but didn’t succeed.
-The breakfast was quit concise.
-Red worms inside the villa.
-+A far away from everything.
+ Quiet location, beautiful view and a green surroundins
+A very spacious villa with plunge pool.
+Only locals lives in the near village so you can see the real Bali.
+A very friendly and helpful staff.
+A good hotel for honeymooners and couples and those who seeking peace but too quiet for young peoples.
+A big public pool was almost in our private use.

I recently traveled to Bali to meet my parents and my sister there. We were all arriving at different times, but had planed a family trip to Bali.

We stayed here most of our time, while we were in Bali and the stay was AMAZING! The staff at the Bali Masari Villa & Spa was EXTREMELY courteous. The facilities were amazing, especially the shower! It felt like I was showering in a waterfall! It was very relaxing.

The resort is tucked away in a small village not too far from civilization and it's perfect for any size a family. My sister and I had individual beds while my parents shared the master. Both rooms had their own bathrooms and a private spa/pool off the balcony.

I would totally recommend this place for anyone looking to "get away" and experience the real Balinese culture.
