“It was not as entertaining as Kecak dance...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2014

I went to watch this dance at Batubulan...It was really boring and i felt sleepy throughout the performance...The kecak dance at Uluwatu was more entertaining than this...The difference was that Barong had music 'gamelan' played during the performance and dialogues between the characters...and the story was entirely different that kecak..and towards the end, the story got a bit horny but it might be done to entertain the outsiders... Overall, i wouldn't recommend this to anyone...The admission fee is similar to Kecak at uluwatu...which is 100,000 IDR...but the performance is not nearly as entertaining as Kecak...

“It was so so......”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2014

My parents (in their 60's) and I arrived at 08:50am, expecting the show to start at 09:00am. But the show did not started until all the other tour buses arrived. Even though there're transcripts in different languages, the play was difficult to be comprehended. It's twisted to entertain western & had some dirty jokes.
Overall the show was so so. Only go if you have free time in Bali.

“Very entertaining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2014

Quite alright... understand the storyline and the costumes are spectacular. The theater is not too long that can bore you to death.

“Good taste of local culture”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2014

Less than an hour show of the local belief/ culture. The show is about good vs evil. You can experience the language, traditional clothing, art, music, dance, belief, culture and legend all at one time under one roof. The seats are spacious and the place is very breezy, not hot at all. You can take photos with the performers and musicians with their costumes after the show ends.

“Sari Wisata Budaya (Barong & Kris Dance)”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2014

Here's my opinion about that ridiculous charade!

It was 2 hours of pure torture! The music was so loud and annoying, it was more like a freak show I found nothing cultural or educational about it, not even amusing! No wonder most of the people left after 15 min and I can't blame them, in fact I was envying them as I wished to leave but I had to stay till the end because my friends was enjoying the show and it'll be rude of me to leave them !!! by the end of that weird experience you'll cry for your money 80Rp

I don't know why everyone recommend it? it's over rated...or maybe it's just me
