“Great food and service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2011

After days of bad food and service in Puerto Rico, we finally found amazing food and service. I would recommend the bruschetta and shrimp skewers. The bruschetta was perfectly toasted with a very flavorful topping. We were also very pleased with the beer options--they have some great Oregon beers. After we ate, we talked with the chef and sous chef who were both very friendly. A must if you are in Rincon!

“Wonderful food & atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2011

We went to dinner with my parents & kids (party of 6). We had a little bit of a wait because of our bigger group, but we just sat by the pool and enjoyed the ocean. The food was incredible, they serve tapas. We asked the waitress for a suggestion of what to try & she suggested trying a little of everything. It was a great way for everyone to try some new things that they normally wouldn't have ordered. My favorite were the beef empanadas & the skirt steak. The flan & chocolate torte desserts were delicious too. I would highly recommend eating here.

“The best meal in Rincon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2010

I read a lot of reviews before deciding where to eat in Rincon. None of the finer dining establishments seemed worth the money. The reviews about Casa Islena though were all stellar so we went. We tried both their red and white sangrias at the bar, and were underwhelmed by both. We thought dinner would be the same, but boy were we wrong. Everything we ordered was just fantastic, perfectly cooked, and very inventive combinations. We shared a number of plates. Our only complaint was that they were very busy, and the bartender had a lot of attitude, once slamming a plate of our food down on the table and barely telling us what it was. When we told our server about it, she was very apologetic, and explained they were at the end of a very busy season. Still, it was rude. But the meal overall was incredible. Do eat here if you can.

“Great atmosphere and good food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2010

The tapas concept, along with the beautiful outdoor seating made Casa Islena a worthwhile stop during our trip to Rincon. The food ranged from good to very good. We especially enjoyed the salad and the lamb.

My wife and I shared four tapas (priced at $3, 4, 8, and 14). The salad (8) was good sized and delicious. The Lamb (14) was a little pricey for only a few bites, but tasted excellent. We finished off with chocolate cake and ice cream (7) which was average.

Overall we enjoyed the experience and would recommend Casa Islena to a friend.
