I looked into staying at a few places in Rincon and eventually settled on the Coconut Palms and couldn't be happier. While checking out the town I stopped by a couple of the other places I had considered and the Coconut Palms was definitely the right choice.

The location, on top of a gorgeous and quiet beach, down the way from a bigger hotel with a beach bar (less than 2 minute walk), can't be beat. The room was excellent and far better than it's very affordable price would indicate. The staff was friendly and helpful with everything that came up (from staying an extra night to treating a sea urchin sting). And watching the sunset from the patio after a long day in the sun is one of the best experiences I've had in years.

I almost hesitate to write this review because I want there to be rooms available there when I go back, but the Coconut Palms was so exceptional that they certainly deserve it.

Our stay was short but very pleasing. We stayed for two nights in late June. After researching several different accommodations in the Rincon area, we settled on the Coconut Palms Inn. We arrived in the late afternoon and were given quick tour of the grounds and our room (The Dolphin room). They were three of us, me, my wife and our teenage daughter. The room was perfect for us, clean and plenty of room. There was a queen size bed and a futon for our daughter. The garden was beautiful and the view was wonderful.

Those that may be expecting a 4 or 5 star room will be disappointed. But those of that are looking for a nice place to relax right on the beach with a kitchenette and do not want to dip into their children’s college fund will find the Coconut Palms Inn the perfect place to stay. We will stay here again the next time we are in the Rincon area. I highly recommend.

All I can say is make sure you see pictures of your room before you book it. We stayed in the Tropical Fish room and it was absolutely AWFUL! There was a reason why she would not send us photos! We got in late at night and checked out the next morning, when we were supposed to stay for a week. The room was stark white, dark, had a dirty futon to sit on, uncomfortable bed, and was extremely outdated and rundown. By that I mean rusty bathroom (featuring a soap holder in the wall covered with foil), peeling paint, light fixtures with no light bulbs, broken dresser (did they find it in an alley? probably.), fridge with no handle, the list goes on. All around unpleasant. The clientele seems an older crowd, so we (as 30 yr olds) felt a bit out of place hanging out on the small porch. After expressing our disappointment, the owner would not refund our deposit, which was for half the week. This made for an expensive night of bad sleep, but we were so happy to be out of there. I will say, they put lots of care into the "garden" area, but as a whole, I would never go back there.

We stayed here 5 nights in the Whale room with a beach front view. The room and bathroom were clean and the shower was spacious. The furniture is a little outdated and our blanket was a little rough. The sheets were soft but he blanket felt like sand paper. We did have a little problem with the mosquitoes but no big deal. The inn is right on the beach. We jogged every morning and had breakfast in the front terrace. The room had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. If you want to grab a quick cocktail and some bar food, stroll over to Villa Confresi right on the beach. If you have a car, visit the Light House, Calypso Bar for some quick bites and drinks, and Tampoo for a nice ocean view dinner. Also, take a day trip over to Compate beach. It's beautiful. Overall, we would stay here again. The owner Gail was very helpful in giving us directions and providing ideas for breakfast and dinner. It was nice falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. We had a very pleasant stay here.

This was my second stay at the Coconut Palms. My first time was so delightful with the lovely areas to sit among the orchids and pool of koi...AND with the beach 10 steps away from any room--a beach that you can have to yourself at any time of day...that when my adult son came to visit (I was living in Puerto Rico), I took him to Coconut Palms. The rooms are all delightfu, well-appointed, and spotlessly clean. The staff all treat it like it was their home and you are a guest of theirs. The owner, Gail, acts like you are a beloved member of the family. My son and I were pleased and will return as often as possible.
