The Hyatt Regency is connected to the airport by a moving sidewalk, so there is no area hotel more convenient to the airport. Our family had a 6 a.m. flight out of PIT for our vacation, so we thought, why not stay at the Hyatt and get some extra sleep? We found the room beautiful and the lobby very stylish, so what's the problem, you ask? We were never--NEVER--acknowledged by a single staff member. Not a single hello, goodbye, or "may I help you?", and certainly not a call to the room after check-in.

We used the lobby kiosk to check in, but we struggled with it because it wasn't recognizing our confirmation number. No one came over--even the associate that I made eye contact with and signaled to, continued her phone conversation and never acknowledged us. Picture a family with a week's worth of luggage having trouble with kiosk check-in and NO ONE speaking a word to them. The next morning was the same. No "goodbye," or "Have a great trip," as we left. Not the level of service I'd expect--Even the 7-11 says Hello and Goodbye!

I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency at the Pittsburgh Airport for two nights for a business meeting. I stay almost exclusively at Hyatts when traveling and have never been disappointed. But, for the first time i have a mixed review about my stay.

First off the good:
Check in was painless and the front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
The bed was, as always at Hyatt, fantastic. I slept like a baby and enjoyed looking out the window at all the lights at the airport.
The chair and ottoman were a very comfortable place to sit and read at night as well.
The meeting facilities are top notch and the food provided was exceptional. The staff was helpful and always eager to lend a hand. The room we had was the perfect size and all the technology worked without a hitch. Best of all the coffee was always fresh and hot.

Now the bad:
I wasn't too thrilled about having to pay $13 a day to park but I guess that is to be expected at an airport. If I was not being reimbursed by work this would be a much bigger issue.
Normally I am blown away by the cleanliness of the Hyatt rooms but for the first time I was not too happy about the condition of my room upon check in. The dust was CAKED on the cold air vent over the door and there were beverage rings all over the desk. The following morrning I experienced a first however. As I entered the tub to take my shower I found myself face to face with a used bar of soap covered in short curly hairs and a half empty bottle of shampoo. I was in a hurry so I used about 20 tissues to push the soap into the trash can. I was also going to use the bath mat to prevent slippage but that too was rather hairy.
Lastly I wasn't impressed by the picture on the tv in the room. It had a great LG tv but the picture was something you'd expect from an old tube tv.

When I stay at a hotel the only things I ask for is a pleasant staff and a clean room (and a reasonable rate). The Hyatt Regency at the Pittsburgh Airport really only excelled in the customer service aspect. The front desk staff and meeting facilities are the only thing that kept this review from receiving 1 star.

How great to be able to walk across a skybridge to your hotel and the next morning walk right back to the terminal for your flight! We were pleased with the hotel and didn't think the price was out of line for how convenient the experience was for us. The in house restaurant was fine. We enjoyed watching planes take off and land from the window of our room. We will definitely stay at the Hyatt Pittsburgh Airport again.

Our National office made a great choice to have our National Association Workshop at the Pittsburgh Airport Hyatt.

It was a short walk from the arrival gate to the front desk of the Hyatt.

The check-in was smooth and the front desk staff was very friendly, helpful and personal to the point they made you feel like you were family and at home.

The food was great and if you ever stay at this hotel, you must try the Pittsburgh Steak salad....it is off the chart in taste.

House keeping went out of their way to make my stay great. I would recommend this hotel for anyone going to Pittsburgh.

Room Tip: The pool and exercise room is on the 3rd floor, but the upper floors have a great view.

I was staying in this hotel for 3 nights. I've run into some dissapointing aspects of this hotel:
One out of the two water bottles in the room ($3.50 each) had already been open and used.
Two out of the three towels in the bathroom have large pink stains on them.
When I pulled the sheets to get in bed, there where two longs pieces of hair
So, either my room wasn't inspected, or their are serious issues with standards of quality/hygiene.
They changed the sheets (I hope) and the towels, but used water bottle was still left in place.
Also... just one a side note, there are many hotels in the area, this one does not offer free parking or validate parking tickets of any kind. Which you won't be aware of until you arrive.

This is a nice hotel. My husband and I arrived in the early hours of the morning after a long drive from Atlanta, GA. We booked online and checked in with ease. When we arrived in the room--it was very evident that someone had smoked heavily in a non-smoking room. We went back downstairs to inform the staff about what we discovered. They were extremely accommodating. They gave us coupons for lunch and dinner for the next day and moved us into another room later the next morning. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room very clean. The food in the hotel was excellent. The elevators also came really quickly when ever we needed to go back and forth from our room to the lobby. The duck was excellent! Restaurant staff was also very attentive and friendly. I would stay again and recommend to a friend.

The only things that we did not like were that the wireless is only for one device in the room and the parking is extremely inconvenient and expensive. You actually park in the airport parking and you are subject to their rates. You also have to pay as you come and go out of the parking lots. We have to comb the lot for spaces and you will have to walk a distance to get to the main entrance. The main hotel entrance closes from 12-6am so when you arrive during those times you will have no idea as to where to go or park etc. There is no signage. The signage we did find was closed due to construction. We called the hotel number and someone had to come down to open the main door for us and after that we could use our hotel card for entry if entering during those hours.
Overall--we enjoyed the stay :)

I stayed in this hotel for 6 nights and was very pleased. The staff was very attentive. Room was well appointed and had a large "l" shaped desk which made and extended business stay very productive. Parking is very convienent and if you pay $10/per day extra (in addition to the regular parking price), you have unlimited in and out service and can park directly in front of the hotel. Extremely convienent to loacations on the west side of the city or downtown. If you are looking for a business class hotel and are willing to pay for the service this hotel is a great value. If you are looking for a cheap deal with cold ceral for breakfast you should stay elsewhere. I will definately stay here again when I am in Pittsburg.
