“Nice food, but......”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012 via mobile

The food was really delicious as what you would expect from a nice fine dinning restaurant. All of us enjoyed the food. The view was amazing, too. However, They could have done better in paying attention to details.

First of all, we asked to have the lamb cut into thin slices as my husband can use only one hand. When it was served, the lamb was cut but still far too big to eat without cutting again. We have been to another restaurant and the steak was cut into a nice size to eat. It shows how much thought they put in to meet their customers needs. The toilet was not very clean, either. There were three toilets for ladies, two of them were too dirty to use.

It is not hard to find good food, but an eye for details and the service define the difference between a good restaurant and an excellent one.

“Great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

On the occasions that I have dined here the food as been excellent. The steaks are generally very good. The last time I went I chose the confit duck leg as I've been quite partial to duck recently. It was pretty good, but not the best. I think the sauce could've been more flavoursome.
The staff are attentive and helpful, and know the wines well which is expected I suppose.
On our last visit there was a bit of a mishap with the fireplace which began smoking profusely, leaving ash and smoke falling around the room. We recognise that this was beyond their control and accidents do happen, and the manager was kind enough to offer his personal apologies to every table which demonstrated fantastic service.

I enjoy the atmosphere in the winter, when it is warm inside but a bit gloomy and dimly lit. On hot summer nights it is a bit depressing though, and the building from the outside looks relatively depressing too, but the grounds are beautiful. On a positive note, the artwork is fantastic!

Spent some time in the tasting room - great service by the red headed irish boy!!!! Yum wines purchased for keeping (if that's possible).
