“Great Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

Spent some time in the tasting room - great service by the red headed irish boy!!!! Yum wines purchased for keeping (if that's possible).

This is the stand out restaurant on Waiheke. The whole experience is a mix of fine dining without the prices and brilliant fresh food

“Shame on you Cable Bay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

Its with regret I write this review. We have eaten a number of times at Cable Bay previously and really enjoyed the meal, expensive but beautifully presented and well made - and to be perfectly honest this time round it was equally as nice however..........being charged 4% to pay for the bill by credit card is incomprehensible. Its not correct to expect people to pay by cash to avoid the charge and I'm most certain the credit card companies would also be very disapointed to hear of your actions. If there is a cash flow problem then I suggest building the charge in elsewhere or triming cost in other areas - don't insult the customer. Naturally I did not feel inclined to tip.

“Great wines and Great food with views of Hauraki Gulf & city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2012

As you enter the Winery you face the fantastic view of the Auckland city and the sky tower. Helicopters can land on the front lawn by the out side seating area if you like to arrive in style. We arrived by Ferry and taxi transport. We opted to have a drink in the wine bar room till the restaurant is ready, but were very disppointed when the barman served our reserve Pinot Noir in a very un- appealing wine glass. We decided to have our next glass in the restaurant and we were very happy to sip the wine in a proper Pinot glass. Restaurant is nice and cosy with a fire place. Food was excellent though the selection was very limited. Hand cut chips were a superb treat with the meal. Good selection of Cable Bay's own wines to go with the food. It is not cheap dining there, but cost justifies the quality of food and service.
