“Lovely place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2011

We had amassing time at Sea Parrot Ocean View Manor. We stayed in the Garden Suite for three nights. The room was very spacious and well-equipped with microwave, kettle and coffee pot. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom. We had bath robes to use for the hot tub. All property is so well maintained and equipped with so many things to make your stay memorable. Lonnie is a great host. Her breakfast was delicious. We had a real menu that could satisfy the choosiest taste. We also were very appreciative to our hosts for providing us with so much information about attractions and places to go. They had books, maps and booklets about Cabot Trail and Nova Scotia and generously shared them with us.

We would definitely recommend this lovely place with the friendliest hosts to everybody.

When we found Sea Parrot in August, 2010, we were in despair. A few minutes with Loni and Roy soon buoyed our spirits! Our family of 6 was soon nestled in the perfect spot for us in connecting rooms with kitchens, porches and a magnificent view of the Atlantic! They helped us in so many ways, always ensuring, and asking about our comfort, and if there was anything else we needed! They steered us towards the best attractions and tour operators around. Their knowledge of the island and their connections are superb. The spa was a real treat. The bonfire, fashioned and tended by Roy, was a super treat, especially under the full moon! We all cherished our time together there and hope to be able to return.

Stayed at the Sea Parrot for two days as a base location for touring the Bras d’Or Lakes area as well as Sydney and Louisbourg areas. The location worked out great and the time spent just relaxing at the Sea Parrot was lovely. Breakfasts were excellent, and the hosts are super accommodating. Lonnie was a terrific help from the time of my first contact for reservations all the way through the visit. She also provided excellent directions to all the places we wanted to see; a great help and time saver. The ocean is your front yard and we had a good time watching the seals just off shore. The setting has many options to please different folks but we loved the peace and quiet. We booked the Sea Parrot based on good reviews, location and rates and were very pleased with the results. In this case we were two women friends traveling together so finding locations with two separate and reasonably comfortable beds was a challenge in Cape Breton area. There are excellent photos of all accomodations on the Sea Parrot web site. Since I'm a frequent business traveler, I can be hard to please and I have no complaints about this business.

We absolutely love this place !! Stayed 2 nights with friends... Lonnie and Roy have done a great job adding guest friendly accommodations... can't say enouh about that. We bought lobsters, Lonnie & Roy graciously provided all of the equipment to cook it ourselves ... including the sea water and fresh seaweed ! even a missing ingredient that we inadvertently forgot. A bonfire nightly prior to jumping in the hot tub is the best way to end a day of sightseeing. A bit of advice to pick up supplies (food & beverages, if applicable) on the way in Baddeck. Lonnie is a wealth of information and we followed her well recommended advice that is tailor-made to your traveling agenda.

My husband and I have been wanting to go to Cape Breton for awhile now and we planned a last minute anniversary trip. We stayed in one of their apartment suites for seven nights. It was tastefully decorated, very clean, private and spacious. You have a full shower and whirlpool tub which is awesome as well as the use of an outdoor hot tub. You also have a private deck that overlooks the ocean. Lonnie and Roy are wonderful hosts. Lonnie makes an incredible cooked to order breakfast and both are very knowledgable about island information and activities. They are extremely friendly and immediately make you feel like family. On the same token, they also respect privacy..you can interact as little or as much as you would like. They also have adorable little dogs that will give you some pet therapy if needed. They only negative thing I could think of is our mattress was a tad firm for our liking but that is a matter of preference. I asked Lonnie for a mattress topper and that made all the difference. They were extremely accommodating and we will definitely stay there again. I have already spread the word to some friends who have been wanting to travel there.

Hosts Lonnie and Roy are two people who have found what they are meant to be doing in life. This was a return trip for me, and the first for my partner. The Sea Parrot is a piece of home on the other side of the country, that is restful for the soul.

You will be blown away with the incredibly beautiful grounds, dedicated hosts, and delicious breakfasts at The Sea Parrot (Lonie makes the most delicious crab-omelets!). Even with the fantastic photographs on Lonie’s TA site, we were still shocked to experience paradise here within Cape Breton. So much so, we didn’t even want to leave to explore the Trail because we wanted to relax and enjoy the beauty and scenery right there at the Sea Parrott.

We stayed for 4 nights and were sad to say farewells to our amazing hosts and other guests we’ve grown close to at the evening campfires. We utilized this location as a base to explore the trail and couldn’t be happier.

Please feel free to shoot me an e-mail if you’d like any further information on this gorgeous accommodation and/or tips along the Cabot Trail (or Advocate Harbour or Peggy’s Cove- we stayed in all three locations during our trip)!
