I stayed at Xalaja back in December 2010 in the Tamarindo house. Very nice... had air cond but I didnt even need it... the weather was great. I like the place so much I brought my boat here from the US and docked it. If I have friends or family visit I can have them stay in one of the great houses or bungalows. The restaurant is a 30 second walk from the docks or houses and the food and drinks are good. The only drawback is you can get spoiled and just stay on this small island and miss the other sights of the Rio Dulce area.
