Description: a newcomer. This new restaurant in the old town of Marrakech is welcome as a calm oasis. Coulour are all in green and black( and white ) there is a large patio with a slight market feeling , then lots of terrasses ,and alcoves. As it was quite new when I went there lin February it feels a bit empty , but with Easter holidays approaching it is certainly a great place to relax during your shopping spree in the souks

“A calm retreat, delicious food, but quite expensive for Marrakech”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

We came across Le Jardin by accident and were delighted with the venue, as it really is worth visiting for the charming garden setting. The peace was slightly spoilt by the incongruous house music that was playing, but the staff were kind enough to change it for something more befitting the atmosphere and birdsong in the garden. We had very good tagines, although the servings were on the small size. The waitress was charming and helpful, but the service was a little slow, considering it was early and there were very few other people there. The wine was excellent and it was an enjoyable evening meal, although the prices are quite high for Marrakech.

“Grossly overpriced and there would be many far better restaurants in Marrakech.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I were looking for a nice restaurant and le Jardin seemed to be the ideal place. A calm oasis in a frenetic Medina. We ordered two cheese omelettes at 70dirhams each (we had never paid more than 30 dirhams for an omelette before) so expected something special. We were wrong! The omelettes were the smallest we had seen and were accompanied by a small piece of tomato and a couple of pieces of bread. Although the garden setting was pleasant with a large central tree, the bird dropping on my wife's shoulder during our "meal" indicated that umbrellas over the tables would be a good idea. Thank goodness the dropping didn't land in the omelette. The service was poor and the cheese omelettes had no cheese. Not a complicated order but we couldn't be bothered sending them back to the kitchen. Try somewhere else for a Moroccan meal.

“Fantastic place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013 via mobile

We had dinner here one evening and it was A very very nice experience. The personal was great, friendly, fast and helpful. The food was great! My boyfriend had something we had no idea about (the menu is in french) but it tasted so great! Exciting flavours and well cooked. The atmosphere in the resturant is very cosy, with candles and palmtrees. Overall we had one of the best experiences i have ever had in a resturant!

We will go back here!!

“Humble, incredible.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

We came here unplanned after not fancying the look of a couple of other places nearby. The small discrete door and menu on the wall outside barely giving a clue as to the oasis that lies beyond. On entering you're greeted by a luscious green courtyard filled with palms, orange trees and the tweets of canaries. We opted for the roof terrace only to find that accompanying the tables were a range of seats best described as day beds! Very relaxing. Service was impeccable right from the start but the real jewel in the crown was the food. We were absolutely blown away. So much so we booked another evening before we left... Which was even more incredible than the first experience might I add. Needless to say, we came back for lunch one final time before departing Marrakech.

“Not sure what the fuss is about?? ”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

My partner and i came here for lunch after reading so many good reviews. Granted, the setting is pleasant and relaxing enough- but the service and food? Not impressive! In fact the service was shocking. We ordered sardines and aubergine salad, and a large water. ONE HOUR later the food had arrived - sardines and filo pastry of some sort - not quite what we ordered. Worst part is that our water still hadn't arrived - even after pestering about 4 different waiters. We were both getting a bit frustrated!

These kind of things wouldnt normally bother me...but the food wasnt that great at all. A few bits of bread and sardine and some tiny excuses for pastry. Meals? Definitely not. The pastry was dry and bland, only saving grace was the tasty sardines. We paid £20 for a lunch i wouldnt have paid a fiver for in central london. Confused about these reviews- surely there are better, authentic moroccan restaurants in marrakech.

All waiters v grumpy and when we eventually tried to pay there was a huge mix-up about what we actually ordered.

To be honest - not on my recommendation list!!
