This hotel was very clean. Free from strange smells. Has an indoor pool and Jacuzzi. An excellent breakfast buffet. Although I’m not a AAA, AARP or a club member the personnel looked for a way to give me a discount on the full rate. Because of that I will be back.

Set back from the higway with gardens and tress at the back. Better than most Hol Inn Expresses - most friendly & well-informed receptionists

Housekeeping was inadequate, to the point that it was bizarre. They left empty shampoo bottles behind the toilet. They failed to replace supplies or towels, didn't vacuum, and said they couldn't make beds because of "personal items" left on the bed - um, a pillow and a stuffed animal? Bathroom counters likewise were left uncleaned and wet towels left behind. When I requested that they return, they did so only begrudgingly. Another family member was told she had to plunge her own backed-up toilet because maintenance left at 3:00, and another family member came out of the shower to see that a previous guest had written "You are dead" with their finger on the mirror so it showed when the mirror fogged--which also showed that the mirror had not been cleaned between room guests.

Overall, the staff seemed harried and stressed. The room was dark with only one overhead light near the door.

On the pro side: The room size was a pleasant surprise, with a comfortable fold out couch in addition to the beds. The beds were very comfortable. The kids loved the pancake machine at breakfast. The water pressure in the shower was terrific. The pool was clean and the hours it was open were great.

Room Tip: End of hall room seems to be larger than others

Our room was right opposite the indoor pool, and yet still very quiet. Recently updated decor and fridge and microwave in room were very nice. Housekeeping not perfect: coffee spills on side of trash can and front of entertainment center were a shame, and coffee supplies and soap not refilled during stay (we stayed 3 nights). Towel supplies seem meagre at most hotels these days...only 3 towels in bathroom (2 adults + 1 child - not enought but typical). Hot breakfast was great on 2 mornings out of 3 as we were there early, but on 3rd day things were running out by 7:30am and no apology or attempt to rectify. The pool/sauna/spa were spotless and pleasant, but overpowering chrorine in the spa made it almost unbearable, a shame as a hot tub after skiing was one thing we were looking forward to. All in all grreat price and friendly service.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2011

I read other reviews of this hotel and picked it for the nice comments and the included hot breakfast. The hotel was pretty full with there being some good snow on the ground at the nearby ski areas. At about 8am I headed down the hall to check out the breakfast...apparently it was good because it seemed like the entire hotel was there at once, it was a madhouse. All seats were taken, including in the lobby, and the area where you lined up to get food was far too small for the number of people waiting. I made a cup of tea and returned to the room to get my partner, and we went down the street to McDonald's :)

Other than that, the room was very nice...great pillows and mattress, clean, with mini-fridge and microwave. It was also QUIET. I had a ground floor room not far from the breakfast area and never heard a soul until I opened the door. It's a newer building and boy did they soundproof it right--once I opened the door I realized how loud it was out there and was quite impressed the room was so quiet.

So my advice is stay here...just don't be upset if the breakfast area is busy, you've been warned.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in July 2010 and were happy with the location, amenities (pool, hot breakfast, service, fridge/mircowave/coffeemaker in room, room cleanliness) but were slightly disappointed in that the room needs some touch ups on the walls, shower stall, and bathroom counter. There were obvious signs of wear and tear that could easily have been corrected by the hotel owners. All in all though, it was a good hotel for the money we spent.
