“Romantic Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2010

My husband and I had a nice romantic getaway at the Rainbow's End Resort the weekend of October 22-24. It was a perfect weekend to relax and have some quiet time together. The cabin was cute and cozy with a wood burning stove which the manager was thoughtful enough to start for us before we arrived. We had a beautiful view of the lake and was able to sit on the front porch with a hot cup of coffee (the resort has two chairs in front of each cabin for the guests). The cabin had all the comforts of home including a little fridge, stove, and dishes for cooking and eating.

We also enjoyed a gorgeous drive up to Greer on Saturday to see the leaves changing colors and take a little hike up along the river bank. On the way back we ate at Waldo's BBQ Pit which is right behind KFC. The owner and his wife were wonderful people and the food was delicious. The pull pork sandwich was our favorite. We will definitely be going back there again to eat.

All in all, it was the perfect weekend. We can't wait to find time and babysitter again to head back up north.

We were very disappointed with the kitchen utensils provided by the owners. There was one towel to wipe wishes for 3 days, one paper towel for a party of 5 people, and one toilet paper in each bathroom. No mixing bowls for preparing the food, no pot to cook with. All the exhuast fans were inoperable. The carpet was dirty with big dark spots. Online price per day reports an incorrect amount. The BBQ grill was not usable.
Do not expect to be back.
