“The worst experience we had in morocco.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2012

I and my family have benn in hotel nasser palace and our experience was very bad.
We booked this hotel because we had read many good reviews about it but since when we got there we felt it is a huge hotel with a lot of noise. There wetre many spanish tourist
The food was the worst we had in morocco because we all felt sick.
They played very very very loud music during all the night. Avoid staying in this hotel, there are many other better hotels that are very close to the dunes.

Room Tip: Merzouga is a lovely small village to stay at least 2 nights ,no more

If you feel like to be in a place that can give you the joy of been at home, this is the right place.
In the last 6 years that I am running motorcycles tours, I all ways stop for few days by Nasser Palace, all ways good food, all ways friendly atmosphere. and very beautiful view on the sand dunes on Merzouga.
You can have easy and relax time by nice swimming pool, and have a good music played .

Room Tip: any room over there , is a good room

We spend many nights at this hotel. It's perfectly based at the foot of the sand dunes, ideal for our motor bike tours. Rooms are nice decorated and beds are comfortable. Showers clean with hot water. Then the pool in the middle of the court yeard, a welcome dive after a hot day in the desert. Also the food is good and enough on the plate.
Nasser Assou and Brahim; Thanks.

The hotel is very nice, rooms are very comfortable and every member of the staff was very nice and helpful. Their food was great and the view of the dunes is wonderful.
We went on a camel ride to see the sunset and the next morning woke up really early to see the sunrise,we had to walk maybe 15 or 20 minutes and the view was breathtaking.
Will definitely recommend this hotel.

We arrived in the dark so had no idea where we were until the morning--wow! --what a view to wake up to. This is a wonderful hotel in a prime location with nothing but Sahara sand in front of you. I could have sat here for days and just soaked up the view but we had limited time and had only booked 1 night with our second camping in the dunes. Quad biking on the dunes is fantastic fun and I would recommend to anyone . My father is 81 and even he remembers the quad biking as a special experience ---he is not a normal 81 year old!!! but that's why we take him on holiday! On a more serious note this is a wonderful place which I would advise people to stay a few days at rather than rush around. The staff are good musicians, friendly, funny and keen to please---we will return and will definately stay at Nasser Palace for longer---hope your head doesnt hurt too much Jamal! You were still sleeping when we left.

We planned to take the camel ride into the desrt and sleep in the tents but it was too hot and we decided to stay at the dunes, Thank God, it was such an inspired indee as my friend passed out from the heat and collapsed on the stone floor at the hotel. The owner wasa right there and give him first aid, the staff was really nice and attentive. The food was great and the rooms were a bit small but the important part is that were cool as the AC unit worked well. The pool was a bless and after all staying at the dunes was not as cheesy as I thought. you can take a camel ride for sunset or sunrise, the hotel can arrnage it and the camels are stationed right infront of teh hotel. If you are going int eh summer I recomend you to do the sunrise camel ride as in the evening is still too hot. Plus the sand is cool and the temperature is perfect at 5 am in the morning. You will take your shoes off and climb the dune as the camel will wait for you at the bottom, you don't want to cook your toes in the evening :-)

We stayed at the Nasser Palace hotel for 4 nights in June and I can't reccomend this place enough. Perfect place to relax and experience the Sahara desert to its fullest. Amazing views of the Erg Chebbi dunes, lovely swimming pool, good food, great service and traditional evening entertainment really made our stay memorable.

Only negative would be that we were not picked up from the bus station when we arrived to Merzouga. This had been arranged in advance and although the hotel claimed someone was waiting for us they were not visible and did not approach us when we came off. Ibrahim, working for the hotel, did however organise a car for us back to Marrakech on our departure. Although for the same price as the bus, it certainly made the 10 hour trip a lot more comfortable and we feel made up for the mess up of picking us up!

All in all a great place to stay. Thanks to Ibrahim and Moha who made us feel very much at home! See you again soon
