“A great day out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

We were in Mudgee for a long weekend with a couple of friends. We have been to Mudgee a couple of times and visited wineries, but decided to do them with a tour this time. We made the booking via email. Jan answered us promptly with the details and costs of the tour. We then gave her a call and booked.

Jan pick us up from our accomodation right on time. The bus was about 16 seats, so not too big. there were another two couples on the bus who were all friends. The bus was clean and comfortable.

Jan took us to a number of wineries during the day. She has a really good knowledge of the products of the each of the wineries. If you want to go to a specific winery, let her know and she will take you. Jan is very helpfull and accomodating.

Lunch was at the Blue Wren Winery and was fantastic.

We had a great day out and fully recommend Jan and tour.

Jan knew the wineries well. Once she knew our tastes she was able to plan and provide amazing knowledge and wine choices for us! A beautiful private tour with a beautiful lunch! Would not hesitate in recommending to anyone!! Thank you Jan!!

“Most excellent tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

My cousins live in Mudgee and when we came to visit they recommended we go on a wine tour with Terry. I usually dont like organised tours however this tour has made me rethink. What a wonderful day it was. Terry was fantastic he is a local who knows all about the area. He was also patient with our group letting us chat and enjoy each winery as long as we needed. One of the hightlights was that in the afternoon we were a little ahead of time so he asked the group if we would like to go to another winery as a bonus. What a fabulous day we had, I couldnt recommend it enough. Thanks Terry!!!!!

“Fantastic day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013 via mobile

We booked a tour with the company prior to our visit. My husband and I have often planned a trip to Mudgee but family circumstances delayed it. Jan answered my email promptly and I followed up with a phone call prior to our trip. As we were staying 7 minutes from town, there was a surcharge which we didn't mind. We were the only people on the tour so Jan brought the 4WD as it was more suitable for our tour. Jan was very friendly from the start and asked about our tastes. We were assured that the day was ours to do where and what we wanted. Absolutely nothing was a problem! We began our tour at Logan's which is 20km from town. Our chats were far from information overload as Jan told us lots about the general area and answered our questions. As we got closer to each winery she let us know about the wines, vines, etc. so it was fresh in our minds. We were a bit peckish after 2 wineries so we visited the cheese place for tastings. We requested lunch at a vineyard and she rang ahead to book us in at Blue Wren. We tasted wine there while our meals were being prepared. We visited 6 wineries in total which was plenty for the day. Taste buds get a little overloaded after that. Jan also drove us through town, showing us some of the beautiful older homes and informing us about changes in Mudgee. People there seem very proud with the new sports facilities! She drove us out to see the oldest vines and to view the different ways vines are grown. My husband works in the wine industry and was keen to learn all be could about the different winemaking processes. Jan even offered to drop us in town so that we could have an early dinner and could get a taxi one way home. We opted to go back to our accommodation so we could rest up after such a great day. Thanks so much Jan. we will be definitely booking with you again next time!

“Winery Visits plus”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

Being driven by an expert = most enjoyable day. Being collected from accommodation = very big plus. Small group of congenial people = good company for a good day of enjoyment.
Having Jan Hill give us a "live" history of the district plus lots of 'trivia' enhanced our enjoyment of the visits to wineries and the district. Organised lunch at the Blue Wren Winery Restauran= a bonus = enjoyment enhancement. Being interested in the people in the group made us feel very welcome. Giving feedback on different places according to our preferences very helpful when planning other activities. Asking our preference for wines so as to give as wide as possible choice of the remarkable wineries in the district. Informing us of the diversity into developing fruit markets and the opportunities this brings not only to producers but tourist consumers - all added up to a truly most enjoyable day on a "mini holiday break" . Thank you
