We have just returned from a week staying at this hotel as part of a Treyn Holiday group. The hotel is immaculate with friendly staff who speak excellent English for those of our nationality (like myself) too lazy to learn Spanish. The meals were buffet style with an enormous range of choices and the dining room was well laid out with many tables for two persons or joined together for larger groups. There is a well equipped gym and a couple of swimming pools (neither of which we tried, I regret to stay). The hotel has large grounds with many sunbeds, a poolside bar serving good snacks and a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. It is set back a couple of hundred metres from the lovely sandy beach with a long promenade between Rosas harbour and Santa Margarida. Well recommended.

This hotel was perfect for us in every way. We spent 2 weeks here in August. The food in the hotel was really comprehensive and catered for everyone, everything was fresh and tasty. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the animation team had bundles of energy and enthusiasm, especially Alex! We never had any problem getting a sun bed around the pool and everywhere was well maintained and spotless.
We will definitely return.

We had a fantastic weeks stay here.

The hotel is great, very clean and excellent service. The food was great, both breakfast and dinner. Lots of choice every night with different grill options. The outside area is great, there is so much room it never seemed crowded, was great for basking by the pool. There in mini golf, table tennis and other games on site too!! The bar area is also great and cava is cheap!!

The location was also fantastic, we did very little research on the area and feel like we have discovered somewhere great for holidays. There is so much to do. Although Roses is busy, it is still small, with very few English tourists it keeps its Spanish charm. There are loads of tapas bars if you want to eat locally. The short walk from the hotel into Roses along the promenade is great for walking off the dinner buffet. There are free shows on at the weekend and fireworks. The mini-golf at the Greens is also great!!

We would defiantly return as there is so much to do!! We hired electric bikes with GPS, water park is about 2km was great (there is a free bus, which picks up from the hotel down the road).

This is a great hotel for couples or families. Great for a relaxing easy break!

Yes the wi-fi is a bit sketchy, but hey you're on holiday! It worked fine in the bar and by the pool...managed to download stuff off itunes!

Room Tip: We had a corner room with a sea view which was great!

I stayed here with my family in August 2013. It's a beautiful clean hotel with nice gardens and outside pool area. The rooms are really good and clean. We had a room with a pool view which gave us a wonderful view of the mountains. The service was always very good with pleasant friendly staff at all times. It's mainly families and couples that stay here, which makes it a nice pleasant atmosphere at all times. The dining arrangements were fine and the food was always good with lots of choice, we were usually able to sit where we wanted and if anything it was almost too good, I haven't stood on the scales yet!
The hotel itsself is only 200 metres from the beach and because of it's location, it's never affected by too much noise. The kids clubs were all very good and we all joined in, including myself in the adults sport active club, where we had a great game of football.
Roses is a great resort and we found lots to do here, including jetskis, the boat trip to Cadaques, the town train ride, the tour of the Citadel, and the beach itsself. You can also do kitesurfing or windsailing, flyboards and speedboats. Very close is Empuriabrava which is a town of canals, and we hired a boat for an hour to tour the canals which was very good, as well as the skydiving which I had come here to do.
Negative points would be paying for the WiFi in the room but it was only a Euro, free in the bar and having to pay for the hotel car park but we didn't do that as there was always plenty of space in the surrounding streets, all free.
All in all a great stay in a great hotel.

Room Tip: If you like a good view, go for a poolside room with the mountains view

Stayed for 7 nights in July and was very happy with the stay. It's a very family orientated hotel with a Kids Club and 'interesting' evening entertainment.
Roses, itself, is very lacking in British holiday makers - a big bonus. Therefore, very little English is spoken. An attempt at the Spanish language was always appreciated.

A few bits of information below which may be of some help.

Wi-Fi - (Remember Dial-Up?)
This is free in the bar area where many children (and adults) gather daily to iPod/iPad/iEverything! Alternatively, you can (supposedly) access Wi-Fi in your room for 1 Euro per day.
The reality is that both options are pretty useless. The bar Wi-Fi drops out regularly and is 'deadly slow' and the same is true of the hotel Wi-Fi. 'Unable to connect' was a common message on three devices showing that this is a problem with connection not the devices! The hotel should not charge for this (or offer it) if it cannot deliver!

Outside area - GREAT
This is pretty perfect if you have children. We have a 'just 2' year old and she would have stayed out there all day, everyday! Loads of soft grass, a good main pool, swings and slides and a bar serving food and ice-lollys. The 'children's pool' is brilliant for any child up to 3-4 years. It's more of a paddling pool with slopping sides (not slippery) all around, fountains and two slides. It's only about 6" deep but our little one loved it.
There are no parasols but there are some trees and fixed areas to find shade! There is the usual band of 7am 'towel around the pool' regulars (despite the signs not to) but this isn't a problem as there is always plenty of space. The hotel doesn't address this issue so just ignore the ignorant few!

Breakfast - GOOD
There is loads of food, regularly topped up and no queues! Really busy between 8:30-10:00 so get there early or late for a table outside.

Rooms - COMFY
We had a superior room (not facing the pool). It was clean, comfortable and well cleaned. The pull out sofa bed makes ideal for 2 adults plus a child.

Staff - FRIENDLY
Staff were very helpful and those on Reception spoke good English.

Location - OK
Only 2-3 mins walk to the beach (very nice) where there are a number of restaurants. A walk into the 'old town' will take 15-20 mins. This is a much better option for food and shopping!

Parking - NO PROBLEMS
The hotel offers parking for 7 Euros a day! Don't bother, there is plenty of street parking around for free and we never had a problem (busy season).

Overall, not quite a 4* hotel by European/UK city standards but a great hotel for a weeks break in the sun. Would recommend a stay, especially families!

A 5* rating from us (although I would deduct a star for the wi-fi issues).
