“Weekend in Rosas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

We spent a fantastic weekend in hotel Carmen. Its location is excellent because you are very near the beach and it's very central. The hotel facilities are very good for the price you pay and everything is really comfortable and clean. I'm sure we'll come back again!

Hotel Carmen is a boutique family run hotel with all the service and professionalism of a 5 star hotel. The hotel is tastefully decorated, in a quiet location just one street back from the main road on the beach. The rooms are immaculate. They offer car parking just behind the hotel which is also very handy.
The staff were friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
The breakfast was an enjoyable buffet and you could order hot food as you wish. They do great omelettes! The coffee is made to your order so it's fresh and just how you like it.
The complimentary glass of wine or Cava at the bar and the L'Occitane toiletries are nice touches that add to the charm of the hotel. We will definitely being staying here again.

Just spent a week here, and was impressed with the service and comfort. There's a complimentary glass of Cava for guests in the hotel's bar, and also free bottles of water every day, placed in the fridge in your room. The toiletries in your bathroom are of high quality too, l'Occitane being the brand.

Reception desk staff are always willing to help and offer advice. Breakfasts were very good, with a decent choice, and attentive staff. You do feel valued as a guest, unlike some large chain hotels where you're more of a number. Parking is free of charge in a public car park very close by. Finally, Wi-Fi is now free in your room and throughout the hotel, whereas previously it had been 2 Euros per day.

I recommend this 3 star hotel for a relaxing stay.

Once we found this little hotel, it was absolutely perfect, the staff were most helpful, the rooms were immaculate, the breakfast was exactly what we had hoped for ... a real family hotel feel, but operated very professionally. Roses itself was a bit quiet, as the Summer season has not completely kicked in but could not fault the hotel for any reason.

Friendly and helpful staff, overnight garage for bikes and car plus the rooms were delightful. Breakfast is a cold buffet affair but still generous. It is located one street back from the sea front so no view.

No sea views, but, politeness, friendliness, and cleanliness and excellent facilities made up for that. Located one street away and on the periphery of the quaint area of town offering many fine restaurants and souvenir shops this little hotel was a great place for a short sight seeing trip.

The bay of Roses offers many hotels along the sea front and charge accordingly. Carmen is good value for money and offers secure parking, the staff are falling over themselves to assist and we will definitely calling back.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

This was our second visit to this charming hotel. Our first stay was the week they opened, and although we had a lovely stay, there were obviously some teething problems.
The hotel can be hard to find without a GPS, but the situation is ideal. A short walk from the beach, restaurants, and free parking, yet in a quiet back street.
Reception staff were very pleasant, and helpful.
Our room was spacious, with a small secluded terrace. Bathroom was large with good quality toiletries, bathrobes and slippers.
Secluded terrace with loungers.
Breakfast was outstanding, with a good quality wide range of foods. The coffee was excellent.
Only complaint is that although the room was large, there was nowhere to sit, except for the bed. There was no table or desk either, which was inconvenient. Wifi, at a small charge, was very high speed.
Highly recommended.

Room Tip: room 406, large, but lacking furniture. Spacious terrace with loungers.
