A little quiet, but everywhere on the Island was quiet.
I'm not sure how to describe Hotel Cala San Vincenc. Luxurious without being pretentious, perhaps. Or comfortably chic, as opposed to painfully hip.
The location is fantastic. Practically every window looks out on mountains or the sea, and the beaches (small) are within very easy walking distance. The village itself is lovely and we tried to walk right round it once a day.
As for the hotel, this is nicely comfortable. Mostly the guest sat round the pool reading books and magazines or sunbathing. A couple of English families with young teenagers went sightseeing. An old couple went scuba diving (for the first time!) A young Spanish family with very small children spent all their time in the pool.
A honeymoon couple seemed to enjoy themselves. A few of the middle-aged guests obviously go every year. (One man spent all his time on his laptop.) A few of the faces I recognised from television or the mags, but it was very low key.
The bar down stairs is smart, and it's possible to sit out by the pool at night and drink lethal cocktails, beer or simply iced water (if yesterday's drinking was too hard!) If you're in one of the rooms overlooking the pool, you could always sit on your balcony and have room service. Which is what we did.
The tratoria downstairs is good for children and couples who want to relax. We didn't eat in the main restaurant as most of the time I couldn't be bothered to be smart in the evening.
