This was my second visit to Badajoz. Again, I needed a hotel near the main hospital (ie: across the river from downtown) but for a longer stay than the previous time, so I chose this hotel in lieu of the slightly lower price than the hotel where I stayed the previous time (see my review here on Tripadvisor), the option to book a room with a kitchen (to save money on eating out), and also on the back of a recommendation from my brother, who had stayed here recently.

All in all, a perfectly adequate, casual -if a bit dated- hotel. The staff were friendly, polite and accommodating. The room was big, clean and quiet, although the bed was hard as a plank and I had to ask for extra pillows... Free WiFi everywhere in the hotel was a huge plus, though there were some connexion problems.

The hotel has an ample bar/diner in the ground floor, with quite a local feel but with a very relaxed, casual atmosphere and friendly staff. There is also private parking, as an extra.

Room Tip: Just ask the receptionist, I found them very helpful.

Last April stayed one night in a group of nine. We booked 4 rooms and most of us had problems with the baths. It seems that each room has a hot water boiler with a limited capacity. Unfortunately we felt on our skin that the capacity is just enough for one person which means that the second has 2 options: cold water or wait till the boiler warms the water again. We’ve dinner ate the hotel restaurant but the food was very poor for the money. Also the breakfast is very limited to industrial cakery, bread, butter, coffee, milk and juice. No ham, cheese or cooked food. It is an apartment-hotel and still looks new. The rooms have a salon with a kitchenette but it hasn’t cutlery, dishes or pots. The bar is much like a street café because it was full of people that weren’t guests. The reception staff was unhelpful concerning the water problem and there wasn’t anyone on the breakfast room to replenish the food. As a 3 stars this hotel is definitely overrated.
