“quality of staff and hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

I have travelled in all continents of the world. However this is the first time I have felt the need to write to trip advisor. It is mainly a tale of two hotels.
The views were fantastic. The food was to die forThe staff were extreemely courteous and very pleasant, especially Satur, the grill chef, who was just amazing.
However the hotel was let down by its bedrooms. We were upgraded from a superior room to a deluxe room which was satisfactory, however my sister and brother in law remained in a superior room, which I would not have even classed as a standard room. It had paper peeling off the walls and wood laminate flooring and seemed very dowdy. I have stayed in cheap hotel chains in England where the standard was so much better and less than half the price. The double beds in both rooms were single beds pushed together and made up as single beds so that each time you turned over the sheets came away. In 10 nights stay, I had about 5 nights reasonable sleep and spent most days asleep on the sunbeds near the pool.
The fire doors were also locked (very very dangerous)
I should really give this hotel 2 stars
, but have given 3 stars because of the out standing quality of thje staff.
J Jones, Newcastle upon Tyne, England

Room Tip: We asked for a sea view room which we were given. Shame the rooms were not up to the standard expect...

I stayed here with a friend on a short trip to Mallorca for 3 nights. We had a really good time. Our room overlooked the sea and pool and was very clean. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom big. Beautiful views. The staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful and were multilingual (I heard them speak Spanish, French, German and English). We had booked bed&breakfast so I can't comment on dinner or lunch, however breakfast was very good. There was so much choice! I never got to try everything, but everyone could find something to their tastes. The room of the breakfast was nice too overlooking the sea and garden.
The area of the hotel is good; it's mainly an upmarket residential area. There's a small Spar nearby so convenient for food/drinks/toiletries and an Italian restaurant. If you're looking for a party place or a big resort don't go here though; it's a small place with some nice beaches. We hired a car which I recommend to visit everything - I can imagine if you're stuck there for a whole week you'd get bored.
We didn't try the spa but the pool was good. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would like to stay there again in the future. For the price we paid it was fantastic value.

This hotel is great. Last minute decision to go away and could not have worked out better. For simplicity took the half board option, which works well over a week but could perhaps get repetitive over longer. Would need a car otherwise as hotel is set away from all the resorts (though Cala Bona is a very easy 20 minute walk and Cala Millor thankfully longer) in an upmarket residential area with one shop and a restaurant, though a destination restaurant also in hotel gardens. Rooms are very comfortable and clean, though slightly dated decor wise, best hotel bed I have slept in some time. Grounds and gardens great, pools great, breakfast great, food great. small gym OK. Views great. Small beach with jetty and good swim area and floating platform if you don't want to just be in the pool, Sunbathing area and shady nooks. Definite for a return visit.

Room Tip: if you have a room that is not overlooking garden or pool go to the higher floors so you are above t...

Cannot recommend this hotel enough. If you want tranquility good food and lovely surroundings, this is the hotel ! My partner is nota sun lover likeme, but there were always great shaded places and comfy sofas for him, whilst I soaked up the rays by the pool.
Love the Spa, and the views from the balconys are wonderful.
One little observation, brought my travel kettle and iron. These are not present in the rooms. The hair dryers could be better, mine kept cutting out, so will bring my own next time. These small points aside, a wonderful place!

Room Tip: Stayed there last year, advice, take a travel kettle! No tea making facilities, but well stocked fri...

We have stayed in this hotel 3 times during recent years and loved it every time. Fabulous staff, wonderful facilities, excellent (quiet) bedrooms. Air conditioning could be a bit stronger, but my main worry is the reverbishment that is currently being undertaken. Will the new laminated flooring carry more noise to rooms, especially those underneath, than the original carpeting?
Is it really neccessary to replace the existing full sized refrigerators (very useful for putting one's own cans of drinks in) with very small mini-bar type fridges? I can see why the bean counters would want this change, but it really does take a valuable amenity away from the guest.

Room Tip: Go as high as you can for a better view over the trees

I stayed here over the summer holidays with family, and found it to be a wonderful hotel. This was the first time we had been to Majorca and left a lasting impression! The hotel has everything - from luxury pools to a delicious buffet. The food there was exceptional as there was a huge range; sea food, meat, vegetables galore and loads of fruit! The heat was just perfect and so were the staff. There was also the chance to swim out to a floating-platform in the private beach below.

Got back on 7th September after a 10 night stay at this hotel. Reception staff were pleasant and accomodating, waiters in the bar gave excellent service. We were amazed by the selection of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner and bottles of wine not consumed could be saved until the next day. When we arrived we decided to treat ourselves and go to the 'La Cabana' restaurant overlooking the sea. That was a big mistake!! Considering the prices of the courses the service was appaling. I ordered garlic prawns which were 18 euros for a starter! They were quite clearly precooked prawns that had been heated up in some garlic oil. Plates were cold and sirloin steaks 1cm thick. They charge you 1.80 euros just to use the napkins which were a bit tatty! If you are looking for a treat that is Michelin star quality I would highly recommend 'Sa Punta' restaurant in Cala Bona for a holiday treat which is only a 5 euro taxi fare away. This restaurant is owned by Rafael Nadal's father and is streets ahead of 'La Cabana' for quality.
The room we had was very clean and modern. All in all an enjoyable stay and well worth another visit.
