Just got back from a friends wedding, the staff were fantastic in the hotel. I have a little boy who eats nothing but chicken nuggets, every evening without fail we were greeted like friends and asked if we would like the usual!! 1 plate of around 15 nuggets would arrive! Nothing is to much trouble. Had some noisy neighbours one trip to reception and Phil sorted it! Great holiday pool bar staff and upstairs bar were fab too! Wedding was lovely came back completely relaxed thank you all!!

Travelling was myself, my husband and our 9 & 6 year olds. When we arrived, the check in was very efficient and we were helped to our bungalow with our cases. The bungalow was lovely and spacious and very comfortable. We paid 15 euros to hire a safe and the room had a fridge. We had air con which was lovely to keep on thru the night without waking with a 'dry' head. However during the hot day it didn't feel like it doing so much. (people in the main building told us their A/C was really cold!) The food was lovely - always plenty irrespective of what time we arrived in the dining room. Although my husband did find the meat a bit samey - there was some lovely fish and salads though. The dining room could benefit from some good A/C (as could the main reception area) however you can eat al fresco so doors are open all the time so maybe A/C would not work? The choice of drinks was the best I have ever known on an A/I holiday including frappes/ice tea/cocktails/milkshakes/slush puppies and the usual wines spirits & beers (Keo - mmm lovely enjoyed at about 4.30/5.00pm looking out to sea) The snacks were very understated and I thought this was better as it was what it says - a snack (mini sausage roll/pizza slice/sandwich - you could also get peanuts from the bar upstairs to go with that evening Keo!) The pools are lovely - especially the adults only infinity pool which my husband and I loved. The lifeguard at the quieter pool was a bit too strict with the kids for my liking at times - no beach balls, no jumping, no splashing, no diving - but it didn't stop them enjoying themselves especially when he wasn't around!! (we still had a great time throwing them in and letting them dive off our knees!!)
The entertainment was dire considering it was high season (15/22 August) having said that the team worked hard and if you are the type that want to join in with every 'game' then you will be well away! It would have been nice to have had some good quality shows a few times - also you sit in the ampitheatre which does nothing for your bum/back and there are very limited seats around the VERY DARK pool to sit on instead during the evening. However you can go up to reception and have a drink or sit on the balcony up there - but still very dark. It was very dark walking back to the bungalows but we had little torches with us so it wasn't so bad.
We loved the location/view/pools/food/friendly staff. My negatives were the lack of night time seating and lighting and poor entertainment, the reception area could also do with modernising but these negatives are not enough to put me off booking again (we hope to return next year!)
The location was good - we got a taxi to Nissi Beach for 10 euros - loved Nissi Beach! We walked into Ayia Napa - took about 25 minutes (Slow walking) and got the bus back 1 euro each (just the adults) LOVED THIS HOLIDAY!

everything was perfect from the staff to the room to the creche, food, everything, I could not possibly find fault at all! Perfect.

Food- awesome selection and great kids buffet, also helo with feeding babies by blending foo! plenty of high chairs and excellent waiting staff!!!!

Rooms - mine was a one up one down friends were in a bungalow, all rooms were nice, clean and percet size.

pools and location were fab, just out of town to be away from it and a nice walk of an evening to get into Napa.

I flew on my own as a lone parent (hubby away) and couldnt have asked for more help, they were so attentive and couldnt do enough!

Room Tip: room 406 was mine, great if you have kids, allows privacy of an upstairs and downstairs. plus they h...

well what can i say it was an excellent holiday, made even better with the kids club my son was never out of it...
he went to the morning drop in (all ages) then to team/tribe, drop in again then the evening activities!! we told him he couldnt go an we had tantrums (its my holiday too). his favourite things was the painting activities ttds arty party an of course the chocolot party which he went to both weeks...his favourite reps were Bonkers Bex (she used to be a profeesional football player?) and Jumpin jem (a real yorkshire girl) as he said they were funny and always kind to him even if he wasnt in kids club, . - if you book this hotel go an see the kids club (thomson)
i was really pleased one night when we walked down towards the harbour, my son started shouting "jumpin jem" an she came over an talked to him an us and wasnt (or didnt show) that she wanted to get away as she was out of work, which was a really nice thing.
we went to the disco of a night then left as there were too many ants around the place.
the restaurant was beautiful an the best food we've had on holiday before. (we didnt do the al a carte)
entertainment....miming, chaos, un organised an at times very rude to customers, the cinderella was very good my son enjoyed the backing dancers!! and the ugly sisters as the balls kept coming out! (it was just john a kids club rep) favourite was karim wasnt keen on thomson ones.
the hotel is on a big hill but away from all the fuss and noise
would recommend this holiday
special mention to nedko an lenka

Room Tip: get a room on 612 or above for the bungalows

We chose this for a guaranteed sunny week in August, AI, paid £3k for family of 4, day flights, Thomson.
Check in - very swift, got taken to our room, one of the junior garden suite rooms in the garden bungalows. Don't worry if it looks a bit of a faceless corridor along the back, the beautiful views are out the front!
Room - perfectly acceptable, not winning any design awards but large and clean. There were quite a few ants but maintenance came with traps and we stuck plasters over a tiny gap in the wall where they were coming in! Aircon wasn't brilliant even after they tried to fix it. But seaview was so lovely, and our room so peaceful, we didn't ask to move. Beds v comfy.
Pools - The main 2 pools that you see in the brochure, one with infinity edge, is the relax area, without music or animation. But it feels lively and friendly, and certainly lots of kids playing. The infinity pool there is for adults only, so you can get away from the lilos and games there! Strangely the lifeguard told our kids off for playing with a ball in the bigger pool, but allowed all the lilo races etc, so they have some confusing rules, not written down anywhere. The other pool, called the activity pool, is lagoon shaped and hidden 10 mins walk away up at the top end of the hotel gardens, with loud music and the animation team playing games etc. It's an odd set up, again the pool is infinity edged, so you can't walk round the whole perimeter, you have to leave and go down a path and back up again! And it's a good 15 min walk to the beach from there too. Not even views of the sea as trees and flower bushes too thick. Hubby played water polo there daily but we preferred the sea views, open fresh feeling, and general atmosphere of the 'quiet' pool.
Beach - 5 min walk down wooden ramps. Soft sand and shallow, perfect for kids. Fascinating rock ledge under the cliffs for searching for tiny creatures! You had to pay for sunloungers as public beach so we just left our stuff at the hotel pool and walked down for a change of scenery once or twice a day.
Boat trip - we only had 7 days so didn't want a full day trip. If you walk 15 mins round the sandy bay, to the harbour, you can catch the Yellow Submarine, sail back to outside the sungarden hotel and explore the caves and snorkel in the clear water below your own cliffs! Lovely 2 hour trip for only E10 adult and E5 for kids.
Food - excellent, varied, hot, service was just brilliant (and we're really fussy!). So many staff, never had to wait a moment for drinks orders or plates to be cleared. A la carte was a nice change, huge portions, but wish more Greek food. Theme nights in main restaurant every night. Snacks all day, tiny pastry hotdogs (mmmm) or pizza slices or even cheese'n'ham sarnies!
Drinks - fab, try all the local spirits till you find your faves! The 'champagne' was feisty! Lovely bar staff. Tea/coffee anytime, and bottled water free. Top tip - the bar up near reception is nice for pre-dinner drinks as served in glasses rather than plastic and you can get nuts and crisps.
As a Family hotel - very family friendly in some regards: choice of food, entertainment, availability of kids clubs. But our kids are 10 and 11, and would have loved some of the competitions to be open to all the family eg football & table tennis, and they were over 18 only which was a huge shame. To do the kids sport competitions you had to be signed into the kids club for a half day session, which they didn't want. Luckily they made lots of friends round the pool and had a great time anyway, but I think they need to think about doing more family activities. Also allow ballgames in the front pool, or swap the pools over so the lagoon one in the gardens is the relax pool, leaving the main one near the beach for families!
Hope some of this is helpful.

Room Tip: Bungalows are quieter and all have sea views.

We stayed for the last 2 weeks of August (we stayed for the same time last year). It was as if we hadn't gone away. We had an even better holiday if that is at all possible (see my last review). Everything about the hotel was as before except for a couple things (so reception excellent, excellent location looking out to the sea, by the beach, good pools...).

On a negative the Thomson reps weren't up to standard as those of last year (mind you they were very good last year). They weren't bad - but the German team seemed to work harder and we actually got to know these guys better. The kids club/entertainment was very good - my daughter loved the choco lat party.

There were sunbed problems for the first week i.e. they were pretty much gone even by 7.45. But it was fine for the second week.

The food was even better this year! I found myself having extra just so I could sample it! There was plenty of variety and I struggle to see how anyone could say anything negative about it.

Nicos (the Manager) was great as before. He seems to be always at the hotel and chats to people - he always made a fuss of my daughter. He was there to see guests off - he even took our suitcases for us onto the coach! Where would you find a manager doing that?

The evening entertainment needs some improvement - the acts like the Soul Man and magician were great. But a reps show of Cinderella was...

My wife and daughter have already said they want to go back next year for a third time. I'm going to struggle to look elsewhere!

Room Tip: The second floor is good - a bigger balcony in most rooms.
