“Second visit this year”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

Well once again we have been back to the Tasis Maris twice this year again we enjoyed our holiday and met some lovely people Brenda + Keith, who we are keeping in touch with. The cleanliness and staff are second to none we would like to mention Lakis, Julian, Peter,Marina,Pola, Panni all excellant bar staff and they work really hard. Also like to mention and thank all the restaurant staff Chris ,George and everyone else for their hard work and efficiency during meal times.Special thanks to the chef who made some potato soup especially for us as this was not on the menu at the time of our stay. I do agree with some of the reviewers who expressed that they would like more Cypriot dishes on the menu this would be nice I also feel that a bigger fruit selection would be nice have never seen an orange in the fruit bowl in all the times we have have been to the hotel. The dessert choice needs to be changed and improved as this can be a little boring at times not a criticism but a recomendation, some of the grumbles were that the potatoes were tinned and that the standard of food had gone downhill. We always found something that we enjoyed but did go out for a meal a few times went to the Apple retaurant 12.50 euros for a 3 course set menu well recommended better than the the more upmarket place next door but one that cost us 61 euros.
Tassos the manager well what can i say yes he is the best hotel manager i have ever come across ( Tassos you can pay me next year LOL ) seriously though he is a really nice guy and has good interpersonal skills even though he did tell me to move to another hotel as he needed my room joking aside you would be hard pushed to find a nicer manager. Once the hotel closes at the end of this month building work will start to extend it just wondering if the so called sunbed crisis will get worse try the beach at back of hotel its lovely yes it costs 7.50 euros for 2 beds +1 umbrella but its lovely peaceful + safe.
Sam + Sarah hope you will still be at the Tasis next year what a crazy pair you are but good fun and up for a laugh and you do work your socks of for us must say you are better entertainment than some of the acts you have on. I am sorry but everydaze in our opinion have seen better days not much improvement since we visited in June a few different songs and that was it surely when you see most people get up and leave when they came on must say something Thompson need to book their ideas up.
The one thing that we did experience this year was the one Twister out at sea two inland , hailstones + thunderstorm we have been going to Cyprus for 18yrs and have only ever seen 2 minutes of rain up until this October. We are returning to the Tasis Maris in June next year with friends and will see what changes have been made just hope Thompsons sort their evening entertainment out but we say this every time and nothing seems to change.

“Friendly Hotel service second to none”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

We loved this hotel. It was our first visit but hopefully wont be our last. I am at a loss as to what some people expect. Is is spotlessly clean, the location is good, all the staff are helpful and the service was very good. The minute you sit down someone is there to take your order. The food is good, varied and plentiful and the chef takes time to explain what each item is and recommend the best sauce for things. We never had to wait for a table. The entertainment team Sam and Sarah do a really good job. The entertainment programme is what people want and expect from Thomson Gold. The acts are the same as in any hotel some were brilliant and some not so good but that is upto personal taste and not a reflection of the indivduals. Peter, Marina, Lakis, Sebastian and all the rest of the staff are all really good, helpful and cheerful. The Manager takes the trouble to talk to everyone and everyone in the hotel makes you feel that nothing is too much trouble. My only critisim would be that you have to pay to have your fridge turned on. We were all inclusive but would have liked to keep a chilled bottle of water in the fridge. Overall fab hotel and even more fabulous staff.

“Butlins in sun”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

Returned from two weeks at Tasia Maris and ws very dissapointed - place is very dated and needs to move with the times - the food is not up to what you expect from as 4 or 3 star but maybe a 2 - school dinners spring to mind from 1970.s. The rooms are very small and air con does not work properly even though we reported several times. The pool side is rarely cleaned and we had a few days of heavy rain in afternoon which lasted maybe one hour - beds and poolside was still filthy when we returned from beach three hours later - when we went down to leave for evening the poolside still not been cleaned - plastic glasses everywhere plastic bags. Drinks are very weak although we did not spend anytime here even though we were A/I. Manager tries to make money off you wherever he can - I paid £1368 per person to stay here and do not expect to have to pay 30 euros extra to have my fridge turned on , 4 euros per day for tea and coffee and kettle, 10 euros per person per hour for use of an outdated sauna, - the list goes on. If you want to have yuor fridge filled from bar then you have to sign a declaration that you will spend a minimum of 2.50 euros per day.. if you dont they will still charge you this amount per day !!!
Towels are changed twice a week at certain times ( mon and thurs between 9 and 12 ) and must be taken back dry !!
The food entertainment is very old fashioned outdated and not good quality - Sara and Sam the entertainment staff work really really hard and give the regulars what they want which is bingo and quizzes.
The place has a regular group of clients who are older and have been going back for years and expect and want same every year , bingo , bland food and outdated entertainment. Resident Band " every daze " are in blue shiny shirts every night and really cannot sing at all !!
The place needs to realise that the world has moved on and this needs to move with it otherwise they will get no new customers in.
The manager would not speak to us as he knew that we were not happy - he blanked us on several occasions to speak to people that he knew would not complain.

Would I go back - not a chance. if anyone has any questions feel free to email me and I will answer honestly.
If you are well travelled and have a lot of places to compare to this place will not meet standards of today.
I will add photos once review is loaded

“Best All Inclusive Holiday Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

This hotel classes itself a 3 star, Thompson have it as their class 4T's. The staff go out of their way to make this hotel stand out from even 5 star holidays I have been too. The hotel manager even takes time out to chat with his guests.

The food for me was great at every sitting, drinks again were great. Even the coffee was the best I had ever had on holiday in Europe. The entertainment was fantastic. The entertainment hosts, Sarah and Sam made this the best entertainment. Can you tell I love this hotel. Already booked again for next year. Hope everything stays the same. They have got it right.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the sea are quieter. Even my limited sea view had a good view of the sea.
