“nice stay but room for improvement”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

This hotel is extremely well located as it is just outside of Aya Napa, the beach is great for kids as it is sheltered by a line of rocks outside and the sand is white and soft. Location is its biggest attraction. The bungalows were ok, quite spartan in terms of decoration (Ikea modern style furniture)...some Cypriot paintings on the walls would add some character. The crickets in the rooms made a terrible racket at night until we managed to hunt them down. The kitchenette is forbiddingly small....really only useful to heat food up in a microwave. The food in the main restaurant and the Greek Tavern was good (the breakfast was up to a five star standard). It is worth doing half board at least as it saves a long waiting time to be served as the main restaurant seems understaffed. The bungalow was not cleaned well enough in my opinion although they came every day. The water in the pool was suprisingly cold although the sea was still warm in this season. The program at the kids' club was very good (many arts and crafts activities) although the two ladies running it were not very communicative with the kids. Don't count on the minimarket to get all your baby food as they were out of stock (although they did say they could order things for the same afternoon). All in all I would say that the hotel was good but had room for improvement (temperature of the pool, cleanliness of the bungalows, understaffing of the restaurant)....one thing that irritated us was the quantity of cats and flies in the restaurant area (unsanitary)....the cats mainly being fed by other guests (children)....sign posts should be put up forbidding feeding as the hotel is quite overrun by cats.
We hired a car and visited the occupied area into Nicosia....be aware that you require passports to cross the border and will be asked to pay 20 euros for car insurance as there is no car insurance coverage on the occupied zone on Greek side rental cars.
Weather wise this island seems to be a haven for sun up until end October (we visited last week of October and had 27°C sea water and 25-30°C air temperature).....November seems to be fickle with intermittent rain showers but still pleasant temperatures. I would recommend the hotel although I would not rate it excellent (very much a family hotel).

Room Tip: worth paying the extra supplement for a beach front bungalow....we stayed in 101 which had sea view...

“A Pleasant Change”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

Had originally booked to stay at Crystal Springs in Protaras but found out at check in that the hotel was overbooked! So being extremely pissed off, we were shuttled to Kermia, and realised in some ways we were given a upgrade.
Spacious bungalow ( although the air conditioning and phone were out of order and took time to fix), massive private beach and lovely entertainment in the evenings.
Only downside was that the resort seemed to cater more for German/Russian guest and that the food was not great.
It was a pleasant experience but i dont think i would personally book accomadation with them again if i ever visited Ayia Napa again

“A pleasant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

We have stayed at Kermia Beach for 5 nights. The bungalows are spacious and nice, with private terraces, the territory well kept, the beach is sandy and suitable for children. Had no problem to find a sunbed by the pool at any time of the day. We had really good time at Kermia. However, we cannot give 10 points for food, it was good but not excellent to our taste. I missed brewed tea or real good coffee. If you are going to prepare food by yourselves in bungalows - be careful not to leave food on the table or cupboard. We made this mistake and found a pile of small ants on our bread when returned an hour later.
The hotel is 4 km from Ayia Napa, only fields and sea around it but the bus service is quite good and we had no problems to go to Protaras and Ayia Napa (day ticket 3 euros).
Overall - a very good family hotel for a relaxed stay.

“Another return visit to Kermia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

Have just returned from another fabulous holiday at Kermia (I wrote a review last year too) and it was perfect. The familiar staff were very welcoming and helpful - as always. The food was fantastic and they have now bought the taverna across the road so you can eat there as well if you want a change from the buffet. The sushi restaurant is also still good. Everything about Kermia is immaculate and well run and nothing is too much trouble which is why they have a great deal of repeat business every year. My teenage son left his ipad charger at home and one of the staff bought her own one in for him to use. They have replaced the bikes this year and the sports programme and kids club have many activities on offer. My comment to Kermia this year would be to maybe revisit some of the evening entertainment. The music is good but some of the magic acts are very old-fashioned.
