“Very friendly family run hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

Myself and my husband have just returned from a weeks stay in the Asterias Beach Hotel. The hotel is very well decorated and clean throughout. The room was lovely and comfortable and cleaned and beds changed daily. All the staff are very accommodating and friendly particuarily Chris and Andrea in the cocktail bar, the main waiters went out of their way to seat you at your table and all the waitresses were very friendly. The chefs were eager to please. We were possibly the only english people staying at the hotel at this time but this did not cause any problems as we chatted and made friends with a few of the german couples. The food was good especially the themed nights and the cheesecake was to die for. Overall we had a lovely sunny relaxing break away from the cold english weather.

“Not all as it seems.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

First of all the property, location and beach are excellent. If it wasn't it wouldn't even get 3 stars.
The bedrooms are clean enough but we were there with our adult daughter and she got a put-me-up bed, more suitable for a child. The day before coming home we found out that in other rooms they had an extra, proper single bed, in a room that was occupied by only two people. Don't the people that allocate rooms look at the booking information first.
Some of the common area's, corridors and stairs, don't seem to be cleaned very often.
Bar staff not very friendly and that check their watches before serving one final drink before bed.
The all inclusive, as already mentioned, is not as 'inclusive' as you might think. The food is generally quite good but watered down soft drinks, (from a trigger device while 'paying' (half and full board) guests get proper bottles), and spirits, which is ironic as they are reluctant to let you have water. We asked for a bottle of water with our evening meal and were told we had to open it and drink some, which we intended to do anyway, as they wouldn't let us leave the restaurant with it unopened. There was also mention of an a la carte restaurant, there is even a picture of it on the hotels own website, but I couldn't find it, along with a taverna. Afternoon tea, coffee and cakes, where? Cold snacks between 22.00-23.00, when I enquired about where these where available from I was pointed towards the main road and told that a restaurant there would have food available, this was by one of the restaurant staff.
Some of the advertised facilities are unavailable i.e. archery. The pool was stone cold and therefore unused.
Some of these issues may be the fault of the package company not doing their homework and
I am not saying these things are unique to this hotel but it certainly doesn't match up to all inclusive in Turkey or Egypt.

Room Tip: If there are 3 adults in your party, make sure you get a room with a single extra bed. Think hard ab...

the hotel was very nice and homey and the front desk one of the ladies there wasn't very friendly or welcoming but the other on was the complete opposite so the balanced each other over all the hotel was clean the rooms were good the breakfast there was brilliant and it's not far from the center of ayia napa where the clubs are its like 15-20 min walk or 2-3 min by taxi and there is a bus stop 5 min walk away from the hotel so over all very nice hotel

“not your typical " all inclusive"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

While this hotel offers an " all inclusive" option, this is not the kind you see in the Caribbean, Mexico etc. The buffets are unlimited, however, there are many " extras" including coffee with lunch and dinner. The drinks are limited to basically 4 cocktails and beer, all others are extra. In addition, since all beaches in Cyprus are " free" you have to pay 7 Euro's daily for 2 beach lounges and an umbrella.
The upside is that the hotel and beach are lovely. It is a well maintained property with great staff for the most part. I was especially pleased with the dining room staff , but most of all Loukas the chef who went out of his way to accomodate my vegetarian diet. The rooms are a nice size with a view of the sea. It is out of the town, however, it is easily accessible via the local bus which is only 1 Euro. As an aside, we were the only American's @ the hotel which appears to be the " norm". The gym could use an updating, and earlier hours as it opens @ 10:00 a.m.????

Room Tip: All rooms in the front of the hotel face the sea.

“Holiday 24th September 2012”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

My Partner and 3 Children aged 11,5 and 3 had a wonderful time recently at the Asterias Beach Hotel. I can thoroughly recommend this hotel to everyone as the accomodation was brilliant, location for the beach was exceptional and the food and drink for all inclusive was of the top quality. The staff were very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The animation team for the children were always on hand offering various games and activites to do in the daytime and at night before the entertainment had a half hour disco and songs for the kids to take part in. Also they had a hotel kids club too which was great for the kids.
The room was cleaned immaticulty every day and given beach towels daily to use by the swimming pool and beach.
It is a fair distance from Ayia Napa however the bus is only a Euro and not too much trouble.
I will certainly go back as everyone was so friendly and helpful and made the holiday enjoyable.
Top Holiday and Best Hotel we have stayed in.
