“Great for family or wedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

Stayed for 10 days in sept we saw at least 2 sometimes 3 weddings a day and every 1 of them looked to be enjoying the day but the last thing I would want at my wedding would be a fat bloke floating past on a rubber ring lol (me). The staff are really good (natassa waitress mentioned) everywhere is clean or being cleaned and the entertainment team (mainly aimed at young 1s) worked really hard to please. My only real complaint was the lack of 20-40 year old couples as I said this is good for weddings and families but wedding parties tend to stick together and families are families. 1 of the top hotels in my opinion because of the lack of russians (they seem to be taking over from the germans but are more arrogant)

Room Tip: top floor of main hotel pool facing is quieter than the rear

This was our 6th visit to Cyprus and I have to say we have now found the best hotel in the area, everything about the Olympic Lagoon is quality from the Management down to the cleaners the staff all work so hard and seem very happy in what they do and will always find time for you and have a little chat, the food is great and you would be very hard pushed not to find something you didn`t like with a different theme each night in the main restaurant and the Captains Deck restaurant serving a super Cypriat meze with the Kiku japanese restaurant and the Rock N Roll diner providing good alternatives. The pools were well maintained and the split of kiddies pool, family pool & adults only pool is a great idea it keeps everybody happy and the lazy river is a must. The bars were perfectly located for all with very little queuing at the pool bar and good waiter service at the cinnamon bar. The entertainment is the best we have come across on our travels over the last 15 years with live shows carried out by the entertainment team with professional acts coming into the hotel twice a week. During our stay we were offered the chance to visit the upcoming Olympic Lagoon in Paphos ( Amathus Beach Hotel) we took up the kind offer and had a little holiday while on holiday got to say it was great but the staff at the Amathus could learn a lot from the staff at the Olympic Lagoon a special thanks to the delightful Ele (guest relations manager) for organising our lovely trip. Would recommend the Olympic Lagoon to everyone its got it all. x

Room Tip: Some of the rooms do overlook the highway !

Me and my husband decided to stay at this resort for our week holiday from the 22nd September to the 29th September after a recommendation from our travel agents. Having only 1 week holiday we wanted to make sure we got the right hotel. Well we couldn't have asked for a nicer resort. We were upgraded on arrival to the Olympic Bay Resort which is just a little stroll from the main hotel. This at first seemed strange as we were driving away from the main resort but on arrival to the Bay we were surprised at just how quiet and nice it was. This hotel seemed to cater for only 14 rooms with its own swimming pool and waiter service around the pool. We were placed on the first floor which over looks the pool and you also get a view of the sea....We only ate at this resort once. Not for any bad reason but we like to people watch and we preferred the buffet selection at the Lagoon part. This upgrade worked out perfect for us. Quieter at night with the option to party, swim and eat over at the Lagoon. The room was lovely and clean and lucky for us this also included a jacuzzi. The room size was not massive but for 2 people it was plenty big enough.
The food selection over in the main resort was brilliant. There was a wide selection available and catered well for adults and children. I was amazed to find even diabetic jam on offer. It looks like the chefs have catered for everyone and done it to a high standard. If you get the opportunity also eat at the 50's diner and the Japanese......both very tasty.
The entertainers were....well entertaining....there were a mixture of shows that catered for kids between 8 and 9pm then the adults after 10pm. Bingo is also a must. Great prize money and only for 5 euros!! During the day there is a selection of games to play but a bit repepative. The quiz that they do is purely aimed at music. For me I would have preferred some general knowledge quizzes.
We had beautiful weather all week..at least 30c everyday with only 1 day over cast.
The hotel was perfect and clean with no complaints from me. But the staff were just as nice. They were all friendly, professional and helpful. Management should be proud at what a great team they have.
I would come back to this resort tomorrow. Already considering this to be our main 2 week holiday next June. If you book this hotel, I promise you will not be dissapointed.

Room Tip: Try and get the Olympic Bay....this maybe only available for adults though? The Fisherman's Vil...

Myself and my partner decided to book this hotel for two weeks after a lot of research, We are so glad that we chose this one to spend our holiday. We are a fussy couple that work in the travel industry so we have an idea of what to look for etc, and we choose our holidays based on the quality of the all inclusive.
I kind of gathered we couldn't go wrong here with the reviews and what past customers have said.

Checking in was so fast and the cold drink on arrival was welcome! We were given our room details and taken by golf buggy to our room, so the whole thing only took 15 minutes at most. We were given room 180, which was a pool view room. Quite nicely furnished, big enough for what you need, I would say that the bathrooms do need a bit of a refresh soon, but nothing at all to worry about- they were equipped with a bath shower and yes there is a hairdryer in the room!

There is a lovely adults only pool area and only a short walk to the bar! Even though we were out of season for the UK, there were plenty of European kiddies and toddlers around but they did tend to stick to the kids pool which had a pirate ship with slides etc. As per other reviews, the pools are freezing, but it was really refreshing! We are not beachy people but we found ourselves at "Landra" beach most days. This is across the road and only about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, the sands are almost white and the sea is so clear- great for families as you can be a few hundred metres out but still only be hip deep. There was a lovely welcome breeze and the beds were comfy with pads on! They cost 7.50 euros for two beds and a parasol, and there is a beach bar too with prices like 4 euros for a pint etc.

The drinks selection is fantastic and the choice and quality of cocktails are some of the best we have experienced in our stay in 5* hotels. There are at least 30 cocktails to choose from included in the all inclusive. In the day time they don't look like much as of course they're served in plastic cups but in the evening are better presented. And fresh juice is in abundance at breakfast!

The food is fantastic, definitely up there in my top 5. Purely for the quality and choice. The thing I liked the most was that there was a themed night every night- so there was a choice of something different every evening. Something I would say to everyone though is that if your extremely fussy (and I mean extremely) and your shy of trying new things- why put yourself through it and go all inclusive? The Japanese was amazing- fresh sushi and gorgeous teppanyaki!

The entertainment is also good, I'd say slightly better than the average all inclusive hotel, but there's plenty of nice rooftop/quiet bars if being entertained is not your thing.

The staff here must really love their jobs as not one of them didn't smile and acknowledge you.

Just out of the hotel and about a 5 minute walk, you'll come to a mini market and a few souvenir shops, if you wanted to go into Nissi Bay it would be a further 20 minute walk, or if Ayia Napa is where your headed it can be reached in 10 mins by bus 1.50 euros per person and the stop is just outside the hotel. I've got to say that Ayia Napa is beautiful, especially the harbour so is well worth a trip. We hired a quad bike for two days from a company recommended by the hotel, however, what I would say is there are so many companies in Nissi Bay and Ayia Napa that offer this service so go and choose one that has the bike you want. We ended up with one that had seen better days and was different to the picture we were shown, it still did the job- it was about 45 euros per day. Just remember to bring your driving licence.

It's so easy to get around as its the same side of the road as the UK and the signposts are brilliant, it is well worth hiring transport even just for one day- you get to see so much of this beautiful side of the island.
Oh and you can leave your plug adapters at home as the sockets are the same as UK!
Book the hotel- you'll not be disappointed- you get what you pay for!

"Special mention to Myriam, she's a German lady that serves the main buffet restaurant, so accommodating and welcomed us everyday!"

Room Tip: Pool view rooms can be quite noisy at night, fisherman a village is beautiful if you can get availab...

Me and my hubby stayed at the Olympic bay part of the hotel for a late honeymoon. We booked top floor for the views which were lovely. The rooms are lovely and adult only so quiet. Unfortunately we had several storms during our stay and on the 2 occasion the water came through our ceiling!! We were eventually moved to the fishermans village where the rooms are beautiful.
The food is out standing as was the service. The hotel managers are very friendly and helpful. Location wise we walked into aiya napa which is about 8km away but there are plenty of shops along the way. The bus service is good too.
Overall a lovely hotel very clean and friendly with plenty to do

I would like to recommend the Kids Club Olympic Lagoon Resort, we have just reterned from a wonderful family holiday at this 1st class hotel and my 2 children aged 4 and 7 had the best holiday ever, due entirely to the Kids Club, special thanks to Rhian who provides an excellent child focused, very extremely professional service and Emily. Both of which my children want to go back to as soon as possible.

Just returned from 10 days with my family. It is a lovely hotel. We stayed in a family suite with a garden and pool view which is perfect when you have two small children. Rooms I have to say are very comfy but in my honest opinion are very basic. The childrens pool is perfect for the little ones.

Positives about the hotel
Very clean and tidy
Staff are very helpful and friendly
Pools are lovely but very cold
Lovely settings for weddings

Negatives about the hotel
Location of the hotel there is no where outside of the hotel except a couple of supermarkets if you want to walk into ayia napa it would take you a good 45 mins not good when you have two small children, we got a taxi which cost 12 euro each way.
Very basic for the cost of the holiday
Lukewarm food.
You can get a snack in the restaurant in between meals but they were cold on the one time we tried it.
On check in they were trying to downgrade one of our rooms to a junior suite when I had booked and paid for two family rooms with garden and pool views. Really glad that I had a couple of weeks earlier e-mailed the hotel and got confirmation of the rooms we had booked which I had to present to the lady on the reception for her to believe me.

On a whole it was an enjoyable holiday, would I go again the answer would be yes in several years if the cost of the hotel was lower
