just got back from cyprus where we stayed in atlantic aeneas for a fortnight.
hotel is lovely and clean. The all inclusive package is worth the money. The food is top notch. The cocktail menu is amazing for all inclusive. Two bar staff by the names of zchvko a waiter and Mira a waitress were really good with us and they went out of their way to help us when they could. best workers in hotel.
Clientel is mixed european from infants up to pensioners and the dress code is of a higher standard than most other thompson hotels we have been to. Never seen tracksuits
Gym i went once its got all the gear with a squash court , jacuzzi and steam rooms. Ironicaly you can also have a sun bed.
I would reccomend this hotel to anyone. Famous footballers were staying while we were at the hotel and i think this reflects the hotels excellent reputation and standards. My freind got married while we were on holiday. I never asked him how much it cost but what i can say is (brilliant) the hotel went out of their way to make it the ultimate day for the happy couple.
I might choose something similar myself one day.

The swimming pool is huge very child friendly

“Enjoyed the Atlantica”

Atlantica Aeneas Hotel

We've just got back from a two week break in the Atlantica Aeneas hotel in Nissi bay on a half board basis, and overall it has been another excellent Cypriot holiday, with good weather, good accommodation, splendid food and freindly people. Yes for us, as a couple, this ticked all the right boxes.
However, there are one or two points that future travellers may want to consider.
We stayed at this resort, at the same time of year, in 2005 and found that the beach of Nissi Bay was much less crowded than it is today. There's still plenty of room, but sun beds are occupied very quickly. Macronissos beach, a15 minutes walk away, may be a better bet.
The local bars and eateries are very friendly and relaxing and there is no fear of being ambushed into any of them.
There is a slightly ''dated'' feel to some of the the entertainment, in the bars paticularly. There are the regular tributes to Robbie, Kylie and Sinatra etc. and they're all very good, but in between, it's old style stuff. It has to be said that some of the entertainment in the bars was a bit unprofessional, but you should make your own mind up on that one.
Back to the hotel.
You should try to book a room with a pool view if you can. Be aware that some of the rooms in the hotel block overlook a car park. Not a pretty sight...The pool area itself, on the other hand, is great to sit around, but I would get down early for a sun lounger. There is definitely a shortage of them.
The pool (the biggest in the Med.) is definitely the warmest that we've ever been in. Towards the shallow end it's like bath water (temperature, that is!)
Food is excellent. Well cooked, plenty of choice, plenty of it and well presented.
Service is generally spot on as well, but the breakfast service got a bit busy in the second week bacause of the arrival of more families
Hotel entertainment is middle of the road but very professional both for kids as well as adults. Take note of the guy playing the piano in the a la carte restaurant.. he's brilliant.
Lots of weddings here also. We saw about eight wedding parties for the 2 weeks we were there, but there were weddings being held at other hotels as well.
Finally, If you have an evening flight time on your departure day, you can use one of the courtesy rooms to freshen up, or, book a late room checkout on the day but pay for it when you book the holiday at the travel agent for about £20.00. If you book it at reception, it will cost about 60 Euros
But generally, we felt this was a cracking holiday, in a good hotel. In any case, you can't go wrong in Nissi Bay.

“great hotel and holiday all round”

The hotel is in a geat location, far enough out of Napa to not be noisy but near enough to get a taxi (cheaply) or walk in the day when its not too hot.
The hotel its self has a lovely outlook, really impossing and better than the photos, which is rare!
the service was great and the staff couldnt do enough.
werent too keep on the cats near the restaurant though but lookely they didnt pester!
in our humble opinion we had the best room in the hotel!! we had a superior room which went directly into the pool from the balcony/terrace!!! how amazing hay! we didnt pay any extra or request this, just a fab surprise on our arrival. the only down side to this is the ants which came in from under the door. (thousands of the horrible things!) but the reception staff were only too pleased to come to the room and spray the area whoch ridded them for a good 24 hours.
all in all an amazin holiday, as the flights, food, weather, location, hotel comfort and eveything was spot on.

“Good & Bad”

Myself, husband and 5 year old daughter have just returned from the Aeneas. As we were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary i decided we would book an executive room with direct pool access and private jacuzzi. The room it'self was spacious with a large well equipped bathroom, unfortunately the extra we had to pay for this room (£800.00) was not worth it. The pool access was great but only let you enter a small section of the pool not the main one, which was very dissapointing.
The balcony and steps down were daily pebble dashed by bird droppings, as were the sunbeds. Not once was it cleaned all week. We did see a maid clean another balcony by dipping her brush into the swimming pool and then sweeping it all back into the pool!!!
If you decide to go for a direct pool access room ask for one in the new building, they are lovely and all lead into the main pool.
Ok so that's the bad, the good now.
Firstly the staff, after a few days we were treated like old friends and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent with a hugh variety. I would challenge even the most fussy person not to be able to find something they like.
If you dont go all inclusive take plenty of money as the drinks are very expensive, and dont use the mini bar the bill will certainly ruin your holiday.
The kids club was run by fantastic girls who my daughter loved to spend time with. I've never known her to eat her breakfast so fast just so she could spend the morning with Malin in the club.
The beach is just a short walk across the road, with a lovely gentle slope into the sea, perfect for little ones. It can get rather noisy as the bars all play loud music not great if you want a quiet nap.
We chose this hotel as it was classed as a Thomson Platinum 5*, unfortunately i didn't feel it warranted that 5th star. Having said that i would go back there again.

this was our 7th visit to the Aeneas, always booked with Mercury Direct and always before the season starts in earnest.
I cannot rate this Hotel highly enough.......the setting, the rooms, the food, the atmosphere....but most of all the staff!
We are always greated like long lost friends,by all staff from porters and gardeners to the management.I'm sure other Mercury guests will agree with me.
Nothing is too much trouble, special diets are catered for and all guests young and not so young are really made a fuss of.
It's really like visiting favourite family......the Cypriots are amazingly warm people.
The setting of the hotel close to the beautiful Nissi beach provides a choice for water sports lovers, and for those who enjoy scenery and flowers there are spectacular walks along the coast.
Mercury Direct offers the most amazing off season prices, and I thoroughly recommend visiting during the Orthodox Easter period
