“Four star price tag, 2 star hotel!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

Just returned from a weeks stay at the Dome.
* Rooms newly furnishedwhich were nice, shower has poor water pressure so takes a lifetime to wash and you can just about sit on your balcony with your knees against the wall.
* Food absoloutley terrible, always luke warm, couldnt make up a meal, flys pitching all over it, desserts , well jelly or choc-ice. Although the italian restaurant which basically is outside main restaurant was very nice. The rule of men to wear long trousers to dinner was a joke, most guets wore vest and shorts thats if they changed thier clothes at all in days!
* Hotel reception newly furnished and nice but rest of hotal very shabby and run down. Most bars the drinks were flat, and you have to pay for martini when on All inc package!
* Pool areas dirty, not cleaned in 7 days, rooms tidyied not really cleaned in a week. Staff rude especially receptionists!
* No kids club on last 2 days of hols, the only evening entertainment is by T.Cook reps, they try thier best but not entertainment that a 4*plus hotal should be providing. When we asked why these facilities were not available we were told it was end of season although T.Cook did not reduce thier price to reflect this. I paid £1.ooo (had a room on my own) all inc for a week!! Travelled with a family of 6 and it cost us all a lot of money.
So, to sum up... Four * plus price for a 2 * hotel. Would not return or recommend this hotel. I was very shocked when I arrived as I looked at the reviews on Trip advisor before I booked, obviously everyone has different standards. Good luck!!
So, to sum up.
*

Room Tip: Choose a bungalow if you want to sit outside. Room 85 was good. Hotel itself is very noisy, struggle...

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding your stay with us. Please note that the hotel has water pressure systems for all rooms... if you have contacted the reception regarding this matter it would have been checked and should there was an issue with your room's water pressure it would have been resolved on the spot. We are sorry to hear that you found our food "terrible", we have a wide selection of starters, mains and desserts and theme nights and in general we receive excellent comments regarding our food. Furthermore the food temperature is monitor by the chefs and recorded (this is a standard HACCP practice for all hotels). Long trousers for gents are required at all evening meals and this is informed to the tour operators with which you have booked. This is a normal practice for any 4 star or 5 star hotel. The hotel has been FULLY refurbished last year and everything is brand new and exactly as you see it in the photography online, on our website, as well as the tour operator brochures. All inclusive drinks include unlimited local drinks and any imported alcoholic drink is charged extra - this is also clearly explained by your tour operator at the time of booking. The pool areas are cleaned on a daily basis twice, rooms once every day... I find it hard to believe that your room has not been cleaned in a week??!!! Surely when at the end of the season, the ambiance of the hotel is not the same as ie. in the summer... however the entertainment is still there, kids club etc...I would like to assure you that we take guest comments seriously in order to enable us further improve our services and facilities.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

We stayed at the dome between 14/10/12-28/12/12 getting married halfway through the holiday. We were given one of the new rooms 006 which was lovely, clean and fresh just a bit awkward being upstairs with small children. The window (instead of wall) between bedroom and bathroom was a bit interesting!! but amusing!! (there is a blind)
All the staff were brilliant and couldnt do enough for you, special mentions to Bogond, Erika, Maria, Lucas, Savvas and the chap on reception with the glasses. They were like friends by the end of the holiday.
Our children loved the pools, especially the kids pool with the slides.
The food was fine we particularly enjoyed the BBQ night. The Greek and Italian restaurants are excellent. We didnt visit Japanese but was told it was also very nice. If you visit the greek restaurant make sure you stay until after pudding is served, a lot of food comes to your table in seperate courses, friends of ours left before the end thinking they had finished!! Portion sizes are very generous at the Italian!!
Drinks are fine they will make them exactly how you request if you find them a bit strong. There is plenty of choice on the cocktails list and we think we may have got through them all between us.
Ice creams were choc ices which was a bit disappointing for our children.
When we met Angela the Wedding Co-ordinator we quickly found that whatever we wanted for our big day, they would do their best to do it!! Angela is great at her job, very informative and very experienced. She was there from start to finish and always contactable by phone.
The wedding venue is beautiful, private and right on the beach. The table and chair dressings were lovely and everything was set out just as we requested. They dress the tables with your name places and any favours you decide to take.
We paid for a room upgrade to the presidential suite for the wedding night and remainder of our holiday, this room will blow you away!! We also had a champagne breakfast bought to the room the morning after the wedding and a candlelit dinner on the beach on our last night, the food at this was excellent, particularly the beef medallion :)

Id advise to book your wedding straight through the hotel and not through Thomas Cook!!

The Reps Dan, Katy and Laura were great with the resources they had due to it being the end of season, beer pong, water polo and football were all favourites of mine.

The only downfall to this holiday was the little part that Thomas Cook played, being lied to about flights. Being sent to Glasgow instead of Manchester with 2 small children and having a 15 hour delay when we were told that we would not be moved off the manchester flight because of the children was totally unacceptable but this will not take anything away from THE DOME BEACH HOTEL.

We would definatly go back and maybe next year for our 1st wedding anniversary :)

P.S the assistant manager was great and was always checking everything was going ok!

Room Tip: Ground floor bungalows if you are travelling with children

Good points;
Staff - 90% are very good
Entertainment team - Dan, Katy B and Laura - Excellent for kids (for the facilities they have).
It's on the beach
Bad points;
No entertainment specifically for adults in the evening
Beach bar smells also not clean
Cleanliness of glasses (Lipstick and food!!)
You will be lucky if you get a fork and knife for everyone at the table
Variety and quality of food - many adults eating the kids food - 5 choices for dessert and were always, melon, Choc Ice (this was the only ice cream available), apples and Jelly were part of the 5... Normally Greek desserts are their speciality.
Room - We paid for a sea view and it was very disappointing. Room 008. We always get terrible room allocations with Thomas Cook and have had enough!
Beds - kids (13 and 9) had to sleep on a sofa bed - not good when the 13 yr old pays adult price.
You eat in the same place for Breakfast Lunch and Dinner - there are three other restaurants but the Italian is right beside the main restaurant and we believe the Japanese is terrible, The Greek is on the other side of the pool but there is nothing inviting about it.

To sum this hotel up... There are far better 4* hotels than this!
We walked up to the Olympic Lagoon about 400yards away to have a look and it's very smart! Chalk and cheese compared to the Dome Beach!

Would we go back? - No.
Would we recommend? - No.

I visited Dome Beaches 30.9.2012 - 14.10.2012 for my wedding, I have to say there is only one issue I had with the rooms and that was full price was paid for sleeping on a camp bed that was not very nice at all. The hotel was very clean and the food was lovely. The Thomas Cook entertainment team were amazing Dan,Laura and Katy B I was so impressed with them that I felt the need to feed this back. The staff at the hotel were amazing The two Peters and Erika were all fantastic they are more than Staff and became friends doing the hotel proud, The best staff goes to Botond smiling everyday making the best drinks ever thank you all so much. Met lovely people and would go back but however got really ripped off with the wedding package but that is being dealt with by Thomas Cook. Thanks for a lovely time. x

Where do I start?
The trip from Manchester started bad with the breakdown of the aircraft (Thomas Cook) ended up spending 8 hours waiting at the airport, when we finally arrived at the hotel the facilities were closed, bars close at 12 midnight.
On arrival we did not get the room we paid extra for, reception did not want to know when we approached them. The room it’s self was clean and had a good HVAC system kept cool during the day as long as you put a card in the slot to keep the electricity on. Cleaned each day but were a bit tight on the loo roll so had to keep hiding the remaining roll so to get a new one each day.
Breakfast served between 7-10am, buffet style as one would expect, bacon was fried ham, typical continental style, with English however the fried eggs were runny, beans watery as hell, fruit juice average, cereal were hard as if been there for a hundred years. Toast was OK because you did that yourself.
Lunch, another free for all get up and get it. Ranged from cold salad to hot meal or if you were lucky enough and had two forks etc. at the table you could have both if you were brave enough. A fair choice of food as long as you did not mind sharing with the flies which were all over the serving spoons. Once allocated a table make sure you put a drink or something down otherwise someone else would come along and take it even if you had been allocated it by the waiter.
Evening dinner, just as lunch but a "bit" more to choose from but certainly not any better.
We noticed that people would touch all the plates and pick up bread for cutting without using any kind of cloth so god only knows how clean their hand were.
The hotel is probably a great place if you have kids or like to see them run around all over the hotel even at night when the so called children’s entertainment was finished which brings me to the entertainment......what can I say this was none existent the same TC Reps conducted the evening adult entertainment and should have been locked up for noise pollution when it came to singing, and after we approached the TC Rep we were informed that the three reps were the entertainment all season.
Drinks for the bar although plentiful quality was very bad, even the Carlsberg beer was flat and tasteless, wine was like vinegar and cocktails more like a paint stripper.
Cold water by the bottle was available as long as you have your own bottle which could be filled up at the bars anytime you wish, the only thing was the way it was done, not hygienic at all, the water was filled by using the multi headed drinks dispenser which house the coke etc. and it was put into bottle after bottle for filling without been cleaned when I pointed this out to the reception it went straight over their heads as if they did not understand what I was talking about.
A long and drawn review but a conclusion would be.
• Be first in the dinner hall each meal so at least the flies have not been there too long.
• If you want entertainment on an evening, don’t go to this hotel.
• If you want an adult place away from kids don’t book this hotel. (Could not find the Adult only bar here as advertised)
• Try to get up at 6am to save a sun beds otherwise good luck
• Get used to flat beer and vinegar for wine, paint stripper for cocktails
• Don’t lose your towel card otherwise they will try to take €20 each towel off you
In General I would give this place a 4 out of 10

Room Tip: Rooms with Sea view are OK but sun goes from balcany at around 3pm Presidental suites would be grea...

We stayed at the Dome Beach from 26.09.2012 to 10.10.2012 for our honeymoon with our 2 girls. I must admit that at first we wasn't too impressed with our room, we had a family room with a kingsize bed and a sofa bed for the girls. This meant that we were all sharing the same room, on our honeymoon......After asking for a different room we were told that the divided rooms were all in use and we wouldnt be able to move until week 2. Anyway despite the slight upset about the room the holiday turned out to be amazing and this was made by the Thomas Cook staff. Amy our rep was fantastic, helped wherever she could, really people friendly and the kids loved her, pestering her whenever she was walking around the complex. Dan, Laura and Katy, the Thomas Club entertainment team were fab! The entertainment was great, lots of fun! We only ventured out of the complex once or twice as we wnjoyed their company so much. As well as the kids club girls, Amber, Kirstie and Tracey, these girls made my 2 little ones soooo happy and as you can imagine there were lots of tears on our way home.
Food was ok, location great, beaches lovely and the hotel really nice. Only upset like I say was the room.
Thankyou Thomas Cook

Room Tip: Book the bungalows - especially for honeymoon

Stayed with my wife here for ten days. This hotel caters for all and as a couple we found it a wonderful place to relax. Clean with friendly staff it's a big hotel and the best bit is the area of private beach. It's stunning and not many manage to make it early on so if you get up you'll probably be alone. The restaurant was good liked the Greek night. We thought that it was well worth spending the extra to stay here as we usually come later in the year and stay in a two star for two weeks. Stayed in the complex and beach area for the whole holiday apart from one day we went sight seeing. Got home feeling chilled and wanting to book for next year.
