We spent a lovely 12 days in the Formosa Park in July. The hotel is excellent with easy disabled parking right outside and a beautiful lobby. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Our apartment was two bedroomed and on the pool level overlooking the pool and gardens. There is a lift for disabled access. The apartment was a good size, well furnished with a small kitchenette open plan to the living area. No oven, but then who wants to do serious cooking on holiday! One bedroom was ensuite and the other bedroom had a seperate large bathroom across the corridor. The whole apartment was airconditioned and had a terrific balcony with chairs and a table for eating outside. Rooms were cleaned daily.
The pool was large with a separate childrens pool and there were plenty of sunloungers. There is also access through the gardens to the beach. However, the path is not suitable for the disabled person and is a good 10 minute walk. You can drive down to the beach but again there is still a walk over a long boardwalk. There are plenty of sunloungers for hire on the beach.
The hotel has an excellent restauraunt and definately worth going bed and breakfast as the breakfast buffet is excellent with hot and cold options.
You definately need to hire a car if you stay at the Formosa Park as it is a 5 minute drive through the nature reserve to the hotel and about 8 minutes to the Quinta Plaza shopping and restaurant complex.
All in all though definately a great place to stay.

my mother and I stayed here for 5 nights in April and loved it! the hotel itself is beautiful, we had a huge 1 bed apartment fully equiped and were even supplied with fluffy bathrobes for our stay.

The pool area was really lovely and towels were supplied everyday. We only ate in the restaurant one night and it was very good but buffet breakfast every morning was top class with lots of choice.

The beach was about 5 mins walk from the property and looked beautiful and very quiet. Qunita de lago was 5 mins away by car and has lovely shops.

The staff were attentive and friendly at all times and couldn't have been nicer!

The only downside was that the hotel is a little isolated, we rented a car for a few days but if you just want a nice property to relax and sunbathe in then this shouldn't bother you at all.

Good hotel, in a very quiet place, near a great beach. Nice swimming pool, spacious suites, modern, cleaned and well decorated with all facilities. Excellent breakfast and very pleasant staff.

We stayed in July and booked a one bedroom apartment for myself, partner and child of 13. The apartment was very nice but I would recommend booking a pool view and not a garden view.
The restaurant serves a great breakfast and lunch but would certainly recommend you sample the local restaurants away from the site, so a car is a must. We found the staff very friendly and the service excellent and the rooms were very clean.
There is not much entertainment in the evening in the hotel however, a short journey in the car there is a lively up-market shopping and eating place. The restaurants all around we paid for the 3 of us between 75 and 100 euros per night. however if you travel further i.e. loule or tavira (which takes about 40 mins by car) it is less expensive.
Overall I would recommend this hotel/apartment for a family holiday
