A truly delightful restaurant under expert new ownership of Luis and Monica. We came across Jardim do Vale and opted for a light tapas lunch before playing golf. It was excellent so much so we booked for dinner that same night.
Dinner was exquisite with every attention to detail. We chose a baked Camembert to share with toasted bread smothered in pesto accompanied by caramelised onions, dry and fresh fruits..... Absolutely gorgeous. My husband chose a fillet steak which was accompanied with sautéed potatoes, red cabbage, green vegetables, creamed butternut squash and a rich sauce. He commented it was one of the best steaks he has tasted and he's been fortunate to have eaten worldwide. I opted for a " Crunchy surprise from the Seas" it consisted of perfectly cooked salmon, cod, prawns, mussel, clams, scallops and a julienne of vegetables cooked in a filo parcel. The seafood sauce was delicious and presentation was stunning. I couldn't resist the homemade desserts and chose the zesty lemon tart with berry compote, it was supposed to be served with sorbet which isn't a favourite of mine but nothing was too much trouble to alter this to vanilla ice cream.
The whole dinner was superb and we were able to converse with both Luis and Monica and it was evident they have a fervent determination to make their new venture succeed. They have passion and pride in all things Portuguese, especially their food we wish them every success. We can't wait to visit them very soon.
