“Top quality hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2010

I stayed for a long weekend with my partner. The place is beautiful, and the rooms were immaculate. The vintage post was a nice welcoming touch. It may have helped that we were at the end of the corridor but it was very quiet at night, and breakfast on the balcony was exactly what I needed from my holiday. The beach was also just a gentle walk away. The quality of the food was particularly impressive, and the bar area felt very homely. Will definitely be returning!

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend and it exceeded all expectations. Definitely earns full marks in all areas from the exquisite food, amazing location, fantastic pool, friendly staff (particularly the batman who made a mean expresso martini!) and quiet and comfortable rooms. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Just back from our third stay at this fantastic hotel and it didn't disappoint. Our room was perfect with a lovely private leafy patio, it was always spotlessly clean and we enjoyed the complimentary port!! The weather was fantastic and as we didn't feel the need to explore we just spent our time relaxing by the pool. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and we felt totally looked after. We'll be back!

Stayed recently for two nights. The facilities for one reason or another didn't exist. I expected much more. The Chef seemed to be the only decent staff member (he was very accommodating) and made my stay bearable. There was hardly any staff on the ground at all. Supposedly they mainly cater for weddings, but no hotel can exist on a few weddings a year and if they do they should advertise this fact and refrain from taking bookings for singles and couples. Such a great shame because this small intimate hotel could be a superb retreat for the discerning traveller. My wife and I tried to get information about a family celebration where we would be booking the whole hotel, but there was no follow up and no warmth from the communication at all. Pity the absentee owner doesn't spend more time looking at what is going wrong, because times are hard and we all need to make more of an effort if we wish to keep our heads above water. Come on Mrs. owner try a bit harder before all is lost.

My husband and I have just returned from a weeks holiday at Quinta Jacintina and were extremely disappointed to find a poorly run establishment with complete lack of attention to detail. The breakfast was only adequate and poorly presented with a very poor selection of fruit even running out one morning. Our beds were only turned down two nights out of the seven leaving wet towels in the bathroom despite our reminders. The pool area was seldom tidied and the gardens were spruced up for a couple of hours only during our stay. Supposedly marketed as a quiet garden sanctuary hotel but during our stay a noisy wedding took place with extremely badly behaved guests returning in the wee small hours making enough noise to wake the dead. This continued for another two nights again despite complaints from various guests. All in all a very disappointing experience which we shall not be repeating.
