“Yes, it is a life-sized statue”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

You may not believe when you see it, but this is a life-sized statue of Bamse, a WW2 canine hero from Honningsvag. There is a display case nearby telling more of his exploits. Bamse was the family dog of the harbour master who commanded a Norwegian minesweeper that escaped at the beginning of WW2. Most of Honningsvag (except the church) was destroyed at the end of the war. Let's remember all the heroes of the war - military, civilian, and canine. The statue sits near the tourist office by the dock for the big cruise ships.
