“Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2011

Similarly to the last review we got a great deal through Voyage Prive, We were a little bit apprehensive as it sounded too good to be true when we read what was included, but we needn't have worried, we had a fantastic time. The staff were so helpful and friendly with good sense of humours, whilst running the chalet very professionally, they along with the other guests really made our holiday.
We cannot think of a single complaint. The food was delicious and beautifully presented right through from breakfast, to tea and cakes in the afternoon, canapes and the dinner itself. Lech was lovely with so many walks for all abilities, and the inclusive card for the cable cars and local buses was a real bonus. We would not hesitate in recommending the Chalet Sonneck and hope to stay again ourselves.

We had an excellent stay here – a big thank you to all the team. We are missing it!
We got a great deal through Voyage Privé. The price was amazing.
The food is brilliant here - really good and well presented. The wine is good too. The chalet is very well run by Natalie. Clean and smooth running. Our room was large and much better than the usual standard of chalet. No need for a balcony. Plenty of room for everyone in the common rooms. Swimming pool lovely.
Team all cheerful and helpful. [Kim, Mitch, Marcus, John, Chris, Ifan, Bex, Natalie - thank you all]
Would we go again? Definitely!

We looked at half board hotels in Lech and the prices were far too high, so opted for what we were told was the cheapest packaged option for the resort. This was a good call as the Sonneck was just fine for our needs and a quick look at some of the hotels that we were thinking about proved right, we'd have ended up with a crippling bar bill!!. Lech is very expensive, you can see how you could spend a fortune. The Sonneck looks down onto Lech from a kind of ledge so its nice an quiet, and you need to jump on a bus to get to the lifts and centre which worked just fine. The bar is lovely, the pool is ok but very small, and we found both the rooms and staff to be good. We chatted to others who'd stayed before and all agreed that if you want to do Lech for less the Sonneck is the way forward. A really nice week and nothing significant enough to complain about apart from the ski carriage charge on the flight, £35 return is too much!

Just returned from a week at the Sonneck where the cleanliness, friendliness and food were second to none. Well done to the team. The hotel is excellently located for many walks and the local transport service is excellent with the bus stop being right outside the hotel. Definitely worth a second visit - shame about the weather!

We aren't the best walkers, but we got all we wanted. A great value hotel, clean and tidy rooms, facilities and dining area. Very friendly and personable staff who make every effort to resolve any issue you may have. Natalie and her team should be very proud. Great standards within this chalet style hotel. We walked if we had too, we got the bus when we could (like clockwork) and made use of the cable car and lifts when necessary. I even spent a day cycling over some interesting terrain. Great summer experience in a beautiful part of the world. But thought I'd lose half a stone on this trip.... added half more like... some really good food in this hotel, well done Marcus and Beth.

Stayed the 1st week it was open for the Summer. Had never tried a chalet hotel before but found it very convivial and enjoyable -for anyone not familiar with the concept, the main difference is that guests all eat together but apart from that one can choose to socialise or not depending on personal preference.
The small staff were all lovely and the food AMAZING-for the price we paid (booked thru Voyage Privee) we certainly did not expect anywhere near this quality! The rooms were spotless if a little dated.
Great selection of walks for all abilities. When we were there the wild flowers were absolutely stunning-something we will never forget.!
Although it's a 20min walk to the centre of Lech, the route through the meadows is lovely and, if you don't want to walk, there's a free service bus every 30mins.
This holiday has definitely given us a taste for the mountains in Summer!
FYI- this chalet hotel is owned and run by Inghams

Room Tip: Worth paying extra for room with a balcony

Lovely Chalet Hotel, with incredibly kind and helpful staff.
From arrival to departure, they helped you feel at home and looked after.
The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable.
The evenings, right from the canape and aperitif, to the exceedingly good quality food with free (in cost & in flowing) wine with the meal, to the great company were an absolute pleasure.
The pool is the big surprise and a pleasant one at that. Incredible to find a pool (& sauna) of such a high quality in a Chalet Hotel of this size. So relaxing after a day on the slopes.
Adding in the bus stop outside the door with free buses running every 10 mins from early to late (every 20 mins after 1920 €4 pp e/w) and you really have the best of both worlds.
To have all the relaxed, classy sophistication of skiing in Lech with the homely, quiet comfort of the Sonneck made for such a perfect holiday.
