This was my best visit to Austria and it was all down to the Hotel Arlberg where you are met with wonderful service and staff that can't do enough for you. The owner, Herr Schneider participates fully in the running of this hotel and this motivates the staff. Most of the staff speak perfect English and even remember your name when you speak to them. We will be returning.

We stayed at the Arlberg in January and it was quite possibly the nicest hotel I have ever been to. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and the service was impeccable. Everyone knew our name and took excellent care of us, even giving us gifts upon arrival and check-out. The food was out-of-this-world fantastic, with an impressive wine list. It was a set menu every night, but if you ever had an alternate request, they were more than happy to accommodate it. The location can't be beat. And after a long
day of skiing, the spa was the perfect place to relax. I hope it will
become an annual trip for us!

Our first visit was in January 2006, on a recommendation.
A year on, and it was like coming home.
Greeted at reception with a hug and the warmest of smiles from all the familiar staff. This is a family run hotel, and the family are very much in evidence, ensuring that guests are happy.
The service remains impeccable (they even remembered my asking for an extra pillow on the previous visit: and put it on 'my' side of the bed awaiting our arrival).
The Junior suite was very comfortable (with a huge amount of space for our ski clothes).
Dining is excellent. We found it difficult to choose evenings when we didn't want to dine in-house: the set menus (part of the half board) are first class, and always too filling.
And the new Spa is great. Every day, after skiing, we would have a massage, and then relax in the steam room, saunas and whirlpool. Admittedly, it does confuse us Brits deciding whether to discard our swimming trunks, or not.
Lech is a lovely resort: the skiing is great, but I am really looking forward to visiting it in the early summer. And we will definitely be staying in the Arlberg again.

After 30 years skiing this has to be the best ski hotel we have stayed at in Europe. We were touring and initially booked in for four nights but ended up staying for six as the food, service, atmosphere and location was just so good. The hotel benefits from the close supervision of the friendly family owners. The hotel does not suffer from the stuffy atmosphere found in some European 5* hotels. The dress code was relaxed, smart casual at dinner.

The food at both breakfast and dinner was superb and nothing too much trouble for the attentive staff.

The rooms vary in size and decor. Unlike the previous reviewer we found our room to be very modern in design and well planned albeit small in size. The room and the common areas were very cosy, important when outside temperatures are well below zero!

We would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

After its superb location this hotels greatest asset is its staff. From the smiling welcome of the recepton staff to the friendly attentive service in the restaurant and bars. The food is excellent - although how anyone can eat such an extensive 5 course meal every night is beyond me.Whats more if you dont fancy any of the courses they will cook you something else.
If I have to find fault then our room - described as de-luxe was pretty basic but adequate and pleasantly furnished and the bathroom was good. The Pool area would be fantastic if the room temperature was a couple of degrees lower and the water temperature a couple of degrees higher.
The hotel is in a perfect position for the slopes and you can ski right to the hotel door.
The only disconcerting aspect of the hotel was the obsession with dead animals and the sets of antlers, stuffed birds and animals and animal skin rugs which adorn the annex.
None of this should put you off though - an excellent hotel, superb staff, and great food.

I have been to Lech about 6 times and I can tell you that this hotel is by far the best. It is centrally located, charming and friendly. It is one of the only hotels in austria given the 5 star rating by the government. Its just great.
