We found the 55m2 apartment to be exactly as described on the Lavendel web site for our 1 week stay in the last week of February 2013. The apartment is extremely spacious for 2 people with huge amounts of storage - but if you are planning to travel with 3 or 4 then I would not recommend this as the pull out bed has no privacy as its in the living area - so fine for small kids, or friends you know very well! The kitchen area has everything required including large fridge, filter coffee maker and dishwasher. We had lovely views of the mountains on 2 aspects although the building is very close to others and our living area was overlooked by several other hotels, but not a massive deal. The bathroom was good with lots of towels and two sinks and although I don't generally like showers over a bath this one was very good and never any shortage of hot water. The bedroom was fine and bed firm and comfortable. The location is set back from the main road but we did occasionally get some noise but not bad at all.
There are some lovely walks up through the trees to Oberlech, the small village above Lech and these start just over the road. The flood lit toboggan run also ends just over the road.
Lech is eye wateringly expensive generally and so the prices have to be seen in this context. I would say that the prices are fair and the apartment was good value in this town of all 4 and 5 star accommodation.
Lech has a small proportion of true ski in ski out accommodation and this is not quite one, but if ski in ski out is 10 out of 10 then this is an 8 I would say. Lech is cut in half by the river and adjoining main road and the only way back to the village on piste is on the North side. This is just off the south side but a very small walk to all 3 main lifts to the slopes - about 150 m to each so not too bad at all at the start or rend of day. The boot room is excellent with heaters for boots so they were always warm and dry in the morning. The number 3 ski bus that links Lech to the St Anton ski area stops just across the road at the post office so that was very handy indeed and we used it a few times. If you ever return to the village too far away to walk then the bus stops are frequent. The buses can be a bit of a scrum at peak times as usual anywhere.
We hired a car at Innsbruck airport and it was a very easy 2 hour door to door drive and we parked right outside.
Bernadette the owner was very friendly and helpful and speaks excellent English so we settled in straight away. There is a very nice boulangerie right next door so that was great. There is a spar supermarket 5 mins up the road and the hotel is surrounded by restaurants.
All in all the web site is a true representation of the rooms ( we had room 7 on the first floor) and we would have no hesitation in booking again if we come back to Lech - it's so expensive!
