OK, I guess you need a "booking" on Australia Day, but what did we know? We tried several nearby places to no avail, but finally found a warm welcome here. I tried the pumpkin & Gorgonzola pizza (pumpkin is something you usually don't find on pizzas in California) and my husband ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce, which he found OK, but a bit bland. The garlic bread was good and kept us from starving. A big bowl of fresh Parmesan cheese was provided.
It took quite awhile for the main dishes to appear. My pizza was "interesting" - covered with fresh basil leaves. They made a large pizza by mistake, but charged me only for the medium I ordered. There was a new waitress who was a bit tentative. The friendly proprietress stopped by frequently. All in all, we were fairly neutral about this place. Grateful it was open but not terribly excited about the food. However, the lasagna we didn't order looked quite good.
