We had stayed at this resort on several occasions previous to this booking. However, we didn't actually get to stay at the resort on this occasion, despite making a phone booking 2mths in advance and paying a deposit of $200 per unit (booked 2 units). A confirmation letter was posted out with the incorrect month, unfortunately we missed this. When we rang to check all was ok 11/2 weeks prior to our intended check in, it was discovered that the dates (mths) had been mixed up. We were told that they still had availability for the dates that we originally requested and that they remembered our call/booking and that they would make the changes and forward a new confirmation letter. Instead we received an "I'm sorry" letter, basically saying that they were unable to rebook/fix the mistake and that it was our fault that we didn't check the confirmation letter. Therefore, we were $400 out of pocket. We were not happy. Despite our last ditch effort replying with a "not good enough" letter, The Management declined to offer any form of apology or accept any responsibilty. Hence our decision to never stay at this resort again.
I firmly believe that the resort were deliberately difficult and simply didn't care about what impact this had on our group. It was too easy for them to simply take our money and do nothing by way of amending a mistake that they had made.
