“Pitiful way to treat returning clientle”

We had stayed at this resort on several occasions previous to this booking. However, we didn't actually get to stay at the resort on this occasion, despite making a phone booking 2mths in advance and paying a deposit of $200 per unit (booked 2 units). A confirmation letter was posted out with the incorrect month, unfortunately we missed this. When we rang to check all was ok 11/2 weeks prior to our intended check in, it was discovered that the dates (mths) had been mixed up. We were told that they still had availability for the dates that we originally requested and that they remembered our call/booking and that they would make the changes and forward a new confirmation letter. Instead we received an "I'm sorry" letter, basically saying that they were unable to rebook/fix the mistake and that it was our fault that we didn't check the confirmation letter. Therefore, we were $400 out of pocket. We were not happy. Despite our last ditch effort replying with a "not good enough" letter, The Management declined to offer any form of apology or accept any responsibilty. Hence our decision to never stay at this resort again.
I firmly believe that the resort were deliberately difficult and simply didn't care about what impact this had on our group. It was too easy for them to simply take our money and do nothing by way of amending a mistake that they had made.

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at the Noosa Harbour Resort, the location is superb, we had the same ground floor apartment looking out over the Noosa River as we had in 2005. The gardens and pool are fine, but the big problem is the apartments, tired and worn out and very basic. The apartments need a major facelift to bring them up to standard. We did notice that they have lost a star (now three star), if they are not careful they will loose another. New management seem very uninterested, I enquired about their 2007/8 rates for a stay next year and was told to look on the internet. We had a good look around the Noosaville area and have found far better accommodation and have booked up for four weeks for next year.

Have just returned from a week staying at The Noosa Harbour Resort with husband and 3 yr old twins. Looks great on their website but must say on arrival into our room I was rather shocked. Very old fashioned and shabby interior. Old grubby carpet and very old fashioned furniture. Kitchen / bathroom very basic. No ensuite either - just the one bathroom.It was clean though and the view from our room made up for it. The actual grounds were well kept and tidy and the swimming pool and its surrounding area really nice. Pool was in all day sun till late afternnoon . Pool perfect temperture - spent a lot of time in it with 2 very keen and energenic 3 yr olds and it was never a prob to get into and stay in. We were on the first floor but ground floor would have been a lot better as it is literally - room...grass.... small bank onto beach.... river. Perfect beach for littlies to puddle around in. Our room I think was one of the worse ( all privately owned) as some looked a lot more modern. (the ones on website look great ) I would be happy to stay there again but would definatlely try and organise a more modern room. Some of the rooms were not river front but they would not be advisable. The view was gorgous and worth the extra money. Location of resort was perfect too - at end of street ( 3min walk) great little group of shops and restaurants. Really good superrette - sold delicious fresh croissants and breads. And 5 min drive to Hastings St.
