“An Oasis”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

I loved this place it was so relaxed and chilled out, the staff were lovely and the rooms were great like staying in an apartment as between 8 we got a lounge bathroom and kitchen which were super clean and had all you needed.
The only thing worth bearing in mind is you cant drink after 8pm which as a back packer at the time was a bit rubbish, 9.30pm would seem more reasonable as there was a lack of atmosphere in the evenings, but saying that my liver was grateful and i still loved it there!

I made the booking through the phone and being a group (therefore taking a whole flat for 9 people) we were warned before making the booking that there was a strict no drinking policy after 8pm and that the place was in a residential area an therefore noise had to be kept to a minimum after 11pm - so we were well aware of these factors when booking.
The staff would constantly come into our flat, once they came and our dishes had all been washed, but were drying, however we got told "to pack everything as ty didnt want to clean up after ourselves in the morning" - I believe that as long as when we checked out the next day and everything was packed away then that's what mattered!!Check out was at 9.30 but at 9.15 the staff decided to clean the floor, and this is at the point everyone is packing and having to move around. Worse off was cleaning at 8am, when some of us had woken up to use the only bathroom and make breakfast.
I believe that the staff must have had bad experiences with previous big groups but there was no "benefit of the doubt" whatsover and we were super controlled. I had arrived a night earlier with another couple and the other room in the flat was occupied by a group of french girls - noone came in to tell them to wash the dishes they had piled up, so why was treatment different the following night?
Yes it is a lovely place, close to sunshine beach but I'll never go back again - we were a group of late 20s to 30s and were on our best behaviour - but staff was really unfriendly and more worried about any work we may leave for them than trying to ensure we were having a good time or suggesting on what we could do around.
The dorm rooms have wooden slits so you can basically hear any noise, it doesn't block anything. Also there are no locker in the rooms, and though for us it wasnt a problem as we were a group, i can see how that can be an issue when you are sharing with strangers.

Dolphins is not in the centre of noosa, but there's a shuttle bus that takes you there several times a day, and it's close to sunshine beach, which is great. It's a really relaxed place!

Didn't like: 10.- and 2.- fee for extra blanket!
2.- fee for dvds
NO HOT SHOWERS BETWEEN 10 AM AND 5 PM!
Only hot water for 10 min!

Stayed in a double room with my mum during our travels around Australia, we were here for 2 nights and loved the atmosphere. There was a shared kitchen with basic utensils, the bathroom was a Bali style wet room with toilet inside, which could be difficult being shared between 4rooms/8 people. There was free wifi available as well as computers. The hostel was clean and tidy and the staff were friendly & helpful. The hostel is ideally situated 5 minutes walk to the beach. Overall a great experience.

This is a absolutely lovely place to stay that I wouldn't strictly term a 'hostel' as its rooms are more like holiday apartments! As such it isn't a great party hostel, as it is located in a residential area of Noosa but in a way it provides a nice break from that scene.
In every 'unit' there are two bedrooms (with however many bunk beds you have paid for in - we stayed in a four bed) which share a kitchen/living area and bathroom. For big groups it is lovely as you can relax in your own 'apartment', and its a breath of fresh air from cramped communal kitchens you usually find in hostels. The kitchen was well equipped with all its own pots pans plates etc. and a little table to sit at which was really cute! Kitchen cleaned every morning. Bathroom was large and clean and the shower was good quality, warm and powerful. Comfortable accommodation though if I had to think of something bad it would be that the rooms are a bit on the small side once everyone and their backpacks are all crammed inside: not much room to move around.
Good laundry with a nice outside area to hang your clothes up to dry. Lovely little courtyard area with free pool table and ping pong! Also free wifi which is always a nice bonus: sometimes quite slow at peak times, but you always get that problem with free wifi because everyone in the hostel will be on it.
Quite far away from town, but they do have a free shuttle which eradicates the problem. 10 minute walk to the beach. Friendly staff who are on hand if you have any questions or anything about the area.
Overall a lovely place, would definitely recommend!

We've really enjoyed our stay at this hostel (for 4 nights). We were in a 5 bed dorm which was a bit right for space, but you only sleep in there. Set out into apartments style with two dorms to one kitchen, bathroom and seating area. Really nice so kitchen is never very busy and kept pretty clean as you know who's making the mess.

Hostel kept very clean, staff come round each morning atleast to give it a clean. More importantly they come round with clean dry tea towels regularly which makes using the kitchen a whole lot nicer.

Free wifi is included but if there are lots of users you sometimes can't get logged on.

It's a bit of a mission from town, but there is a free shuttle bus regularly throughout the day to get to noosa junction or main beach. Really nice walk along the coastal walk from the hostel into town as well.

Loved it

Clean kitchens (there are at least four, which is great- no fighting for fridge space!) and helpful staff who've got some handy advice too.
Kinda far from the town or anything you'd probably walk to, yet there is a shuttle bus that picks you up from the coach station and takes you to town if you keep an eye on the timetable.
Environmentally friendly hostel and great place to meet new travelling people.
