“Claytons Stay Part Dieux !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2011

If you read my previous Noosa experience the title will make sense. Thankfully after a booking error we were moved to the Quays and loved it ! The staff were very friendly , awaited our late check-in , advised us of local tips, gave us a quite room, etc, etc. We really lucked in as it was a bit more then our budget but the difference was paid by our 'original hosts'. After 3 nights I can easily see the benefits of spending a little extra and getting a great location. The pool, waterfront location , the free use of equipment, free DVD's , large rooms , no road noise, BBQ area etc make it a fantastic location. Walking distance to Gympie Terrace and all the restaurants makes for a relaxing break, would go again easily !!

Room Tip: Ask for the River view rooms and the friendly Ducks !

My husband and I and our two kids, plus parents in law, all stayed in the four bedroom two storey apartment at the Cayman Quays in Sept/Oct and it was such a lovely place. We had not been to Noosa before so had the benefit of the parents/in/law's advice. The apartment was perfect for up to 8 people (we were six) and the master bedroom (very comfy bed!) with its walk through wardrobe/dressing room to the bathroom was such a lovely luxury. The master has its own tv too. Balconies off both the master and the bedroom next to it, and a separate upstairs toilet and bathroom with another bedroom upstairs as well. Downstairs there is a bedroom off the second loungeroom, which is roomy and with a huge couch and lounge chair, its own television and doors opening to the patio which looks directly onto the river, separated only by a safety fence and another 40 metres of lawn. The connecting first loungeroom which is part of the open plan living/dining and kitchen (very spacious, well equipped and up to date) also opens to the patio. It has its own television too. A downstairs toilet, bathroom/laundry completes the apartment. The 'front' door off the kitchen leads to the undercover parking space adjacent and between the car spot and the door is another patio area. There is a pool with a spa next to it which was about 15 metres from our patio complete with large patio umbrellas and sunlounges. This was lovely when it was not a day to go to the beach
We self catered most of the time, but there are plenty of restaurants in nearby Noosaville, including MadMegs a gourmet pizza (takeaway too) on Thomas Street.
We had a lovely time eating our breakfasts on the patio with the river to look at as the boats passed by, and the Yacht Club is a 5 minute walk away, so drinks on the balcony there were very nice too. The Quays have a huge DVD library which is free to hire from, and there is free use of bikes (adult size) and kayaks (single and double). We did the kayak thing with the kids up and down the river a bit. I am sure if you are a kayak enthusiast this would be so much fun. The apartment is close to Noosaville (walking distance and with park activities for little kids and accessible by walking between the river and accommodation buildings on the way) and 5 minute drive to Tewantin where there is a Woollies, and a good bakers. Places of interest would be the Eumundi Markets on Sat and Wed (6.30 to 2pm) which are big and a lovely town to look through too. The pub is a good place to sit and have lunch and look down across the markets. Cooroy is worth a visit to the Sawmill museum, the new library and some nice little shops. If you like Thai food and a nice drive in the countryside, you HAVE to go eat at The Spirit House near Yandina about 25/30 mins from Noosaville. Absolutely beautiful food and what a stupendous garden.
Hastings Street is the main shopping street of Noosa, and has some upmarket shops but also caters for many budgets. Make sure you check out Noosa Longboards on Hastings Street, it has some cool historic things to look at and they play great 60's music.
Noosa Beach of course is adjacent, and although we didn't see it, there is some sand sculpture done on the beach each day (?) near the boardwalk. You have to do at least one of the walks into the National Park up on the hill at the south end of Noosa Beach, as there are some spectacular views from up there. Dolphins are regular visitors to Noosa waters - my husband and son were but 20 metres from them as they swam past them one day.
All in all, a great place for a holiday and the Cayman Quays was a very friendly and handy place to stay. The apartment had some very minor faults we found and they were fixed as soon as we notified the staff who were always very helpful and friendly. Noise was not a problem despite the road the complex is on is a busy road. Didn't hear anything at night. Very decent rates too, especially if you have quite a few people to take on holiday.

Our riverside apartment was a great place for a spell of rest and relaxation. The apartment had all we needed to be self sufficient (except sharp knives!!) though Noosa does have lots of good eating establishements if you don't want to do your own meals. No road between the accommodation and the Noosa River, just a wide grass strip. Lovely sunsets from the property's jetty. Warm swimming pool, kayaks and bikes available for guests to use (just need to pump up the bike tyres!). The managers, Julia and Steve, are welcoming and helpful - they add value to a nice place to stay.

I stayed for a couple of nights and this represents good value 3 star-style accommodation. Not the newest of places but well kept. Nice river views, some way from the restaurants but commensurately cheaper - and quieter. Clean, functional, practical, well-equipped; I would say good for families but not the most romantic of places for couples. Staff very helpful on directions and local amenities.

Room Tip: Get a river view (which means less road noise)

I was visiting with a young family. The accommodation was very good, clean and spacous. Great value for the apartment we had, there were four of us. Great service and they offered free kayaks and bikes. It is on a main road, however I did not find that there was a noise problem. It is however a good 10 minute walk to the local restaurants and shops, but coming from the UK we did not find the walk along the river to town a problem. I would stay here again.

Excellent huge lawn down to river. Bit of a hike from restaraunts but they'll lend you adult bikes for nothing - so that's all right then.

We just got back from a 3 week trip to Australia and Cayman Quays was by far the best of the 4 places we stayed in. Our unit (no. 1 I think) was very clean and spacious and had a great view over the river. We sat on the balcony each morning and had breakfast watching the boats go up and downt he river, bliss! The staff were always friendly and helpful. On the day we were to check out I was unwell and they let us keep our room for an extra hour or so while my husband went to collect the hire car, it was very much appreciated. The dvds were great as was the pool. My one very small suggestion to the owners would be that a couple of extra sunloungers around the pool would be good. Most of our stay we could get one no problem but a few days they were all taken.
We would like to thank all the staff for an excellent holiday, we would love to come back.
