“Great family meals”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

Been here many times - kids eat free, good play room with computer games, TV with family dvd's playing and really good "Pub Food" - never had a bad meal here

“poor dinner selection and rude staff”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

went here a few times for dinner- lack of meal choices and what was available was unpleasant. Prices were extremely inflated for quality of food. One older guy served us, no smile or manners from him, adding to the overall negative experience. Will NOT be returning thx.

“Vouchers helped”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

Bar meals at restaurant prices but worth checking their website for discounts. With discounts good value. Bit pricey without. With smartphones you can download vouchers to your phone. Ours was $10 off each meal which worked out as a 40% discount. Discounts definitely make meals taste better.

“No Anything to Rave About”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

Basic pub fare at inflated restaurant prices. Sitting out on the balcony on a fine, not windy day would probably be nice. Inside (except near the windows) is dark and uninviting. Staff are pleasant. There's nothing flash or upmarket about the meals, the service or anything else. The napkins are thin paper, the tables are way to high (or the chairs too low) for dining. The chairs are good for sitting but I don't want the table just below my shoulders (no, I am not a dwarf).
If you want a drink and some basic pub food that will leave a greasy slick in your throat this is the place for you, but be prepared to pay way too much for a meal here. Drink were reasonable - after all, it is a pub.

“Lunch at the Reef”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

I wanted a hamburger....and would normally go to what was once Irish Murphies, but is now called something else. But they do have good hamburgers.

But because two of us wanted lunch we decided to try the Reef. The seating is good....in the lighter areas (you know what its like in a pub often - dark and smelling of last years cigarettes and beer). The staff were pleasant. However I would normally have a pint of beer with a hamburger but they didn't serve pints.
There didn't seem to be any sort of special on hamburgers....so I went for the mignon and prawns. Very well presented but very pricey for lunch $34.90!
My partner went for the seafood basket...and found it very ordinary....walking out saying "Frozen fish and seafood resurrected....I can taste the fat in the back of my throat"
Why don't these places think that there may be people who are intolerant of certain foods....such as onion and garlic which makes my partner very sick. If you ask "Is there any onion or garlic in the salad?" they look at you as if you're mad. The problem is that the staff are all under 40 and have caste-iron stomachs (like we all did at that age).
Would we go there again? My partner "NO"...Me? ...well I might if I save up long enough.
