“Noosa's Best Kept Secret...Not Any More!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2012

During the Noosa Food and Wine Festival, my partner and I Visited View Restaurant for a wine tasting with the wine makers. Had a great time catching up with other locals, not to mention chatting to the passionate wine makers themselves.

When it was over we decided to stay for dinner, and we were pleasantly surprised. The waitstaff were very welcoming and professional.
All We felt like was a good steak...even though there were some very tempting dishes on the menu, we went straight for two rare cooked stakes. The waitress was very convincing and suggested we just share an entree while our steaks were being cooked, so we tried the twice cooked pork belly...OMG!!...yum, so glad we did it.
Soon as our steaks arrived we cut into them, and they were cooked to perfection. Actually one of the best steaks we have had, and trust me, we eat steaks everywhere.
I couldn't fault a thing, awesome food, great service, and nice and toastie warm with the heaters going.
I love that we have found somewhere new to go, undercover parking, right underneath the restaurant, and just a couple of minutes away from Hastings street.
I was tempted to keep this discovery to myself, my own secret hideaway, but hey.....I just had to share. This place should be full every night of the week.
Do yourself a favour and try it for yourself, you will be pleasantly surprised, as I was.

Ah, the old secret hideaway trick!

Many a local quick to point out – oh, we didn’t know you were there! The guise of confusion over council enforced dual access (from 7am via Viewland Drive, then from 7pm via Little Hastings Street) perhaps intended to be kept Noosa’s best kept secret.

The winter menu is out and the critics raving. Many thanks for posting your comments. Glad you enjoyed the steak. The pork belly quickly establishing itself as a signature dish following the extraordinary response from the Noosa Food and Wine Festival.

Whilst on the topic of festivals, View on Little Hastings is again involved with the next major for Noosa; The Noosa Longweekend Festival 2012. As we celebrate a new decade of The Noosa Longweekend (now in its eleventh year), the ten day festival is packed with events which may be considered cutting edge or perhaps even a little risqué. As a multi-genre Arts Festival, it is vital that we continue to stimulate, titillate and invigorate the creative palate. This year’s program offers something for all tastes, all age groups and budgets.

For locals and guests here next weekend, keep Sunday free with the grand finale being held at Outrigger Little Hastings Street Resort & Spa. Food to DINE FOR!

“food inedible and expensive at View restaurant”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

Unable to cut duck's breast so tried to chew portions - meat was totally raw & burnt on exterior. Complained to waitress - she offered a replacement meal after everyone else finished eating. Duty manager condescendingly stated "that is how duck breast should be cooked" & produced full-priced bill. 3 weeks later and still haven't heard from Manager of Outrigger Resort.

Good morning,
Certainly disappointing to read your comments within this forum and that we appear to have fallen so short of your expectations on the night and in follow up to your concerns. Following your praise of the food quality from our chef at the Noosa Food and Wine festival it is unfortunate the experience was not so enjoyable at the restaurant.
Indeed following the telephone call between you and the manager two days after the incident, whilst accepted you remained unsatisfied with the response the matter was indeed followed up with the duty manager, wait staff and executive chef.
With the winter menu having just been released, the demand for the duck remains strong so it continues; the quality control from our kitchen and the service delivery focus remain very high to ensure all is undertaken to prevent any future shortfall in this regard. The inconvenience regrettable and, on behalf of all the staff at View on Little Hastings, apologies are extended for any and all inconvenience caused.

“Fresh, Hot,Tasty & Plentiful - served just the way you like it !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2012

We, a party of 18, recently enjoyed a long weekend 'break-casion' at Outrigger Little Hastings St Noosa. We had our breakfasts at View restaurant during our 3 day stay. The service was friendly and prompt. The buffet was pipping hot -so important- fresh and very appealing. Great variety - even the most discerning tastes could be meet here. Rodney, the breakfast chef, was a through professional - he went out of his way to cater for a couple in our party with very specific dietary requirements, he needed no reminding the following mornings - he had it all ready in advance - service like that is hard to find. Our very pleasing dining experiences were only heightened by the aesthetic appeal of the View restaurant itself - bright and airy, tropical and tranquil - such a lovely, lovely feel & a great atmosphere. One of Noosa's finest !

We, as hosts, welcome and entertain our guests and friends with warmth and generosity.

With a party on 18 I’m not sure how much of a break you achieved on your break-casion but perhaps that’s a story best left for a different tale...

Your comments have been read by our service staff in View on Little Hastings and all, especially Rodney, most gracious for your kind words. A buffet breakfast often difficult to achieve a point of difference so highly rewarding the efforts to go above expectations with service are recognised.

The restaurant itself is truly unique; a vast open space with an Australian tree house appeal. Quietly setting about to earn respect and reputation within Noosa’s outstanding dining market, Chef Michael’s autumn menu has been well received and reviewed. With his third, the winter menu, just weeks away we all look forward to his next exciting chapter.

We hope your break-casion becomes an annual event and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

“Tranquil Hidden Treasure that should be discovered!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2012

Have dined at View on two occasions now and loved the food and service both times. Last visit enjoying a succulent and perfectly cooked rare steak - rather hard to find. There is a good wine list to select from, and the service is professional and friendly.
The space is large yet inviting, it would be perfect for large groups but works just as well for an intimate dinner for two.
This place hasn't been fully discovered yet but it wont be long, definitely worth a visit.

The Noosa International Food and Wine Festival 2012 in full swing over this weekend bringing more than 200 food and wine personalities, media, producers and entertainment icons to Noosa and the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

Chef Michael and View on Little Hastings host Steve are very proud to be involved in the festival and thrilled you have found the opportunity to dine with us when so many extraordinary venues to choose from.

The autumn menu in View has received highly complimentary review including that from Ann Rickard (Noosa News May 4, 2012) Noosa’s delicious new secret. With the winter menu just weeks off, indeed both local and visitors to Noosa are discovering an experience to Dine For!

Thank you for your time in review on this forum and we all look forward to welcoming you back to our Tranquil Hidden Treasure soon.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2012

The longest part of the restaurant is covered floor to ceiling with metal panels preventing you from seeing outside. At the very end of the restaurant, were there are no tables is an open balcony were one can see a few trees and get a glimpse of the sea. Not so sure that the name reflects the actual view.
On Saturday night three of us decided to have dinner at the restaurant. There were at least 10 tables empty, yet when we asked for a table the waiter made a face and gave us little hope but he had a lengthy look in his books before showing us to a table. During the two hours we were there none of the empty tables were occupied, so I am not so sure why he had to figure out if he had an available table.
One of us ordered the salmon and the waiter asked is she wanted it medium cooked. Initially she answered “yes” but promptly corrected herself to well cooked. His response followed: “you said yes before, that’s not well cooked!”
I asked for a medium to well-cooked steak, which it was delivered, burnt on the outside. We asked for the green beans with oil instead of butter, they were brought without dressing. I asked for a beer, which was brought without a glass (I had to ask for one). I also had to ask for a steak knife.
The food took 60 minutes to arrive.
The waiter used over familiar and odd phrases such us: “ how are you going girls” “ have you finished or you still playing with that” referring to my friend eating her food.
We noticed a couple next to us also waiting for their food. The lady got her food first and his arrived 20 minutes later.
Despite all this the resort seem to believe that this is fine dining and the prices are those of fine dining.

The breakfast buffet offered variety, everything looked fresh and the staff was pleasant and helpful. I was there to attend a conference and therefore they had many guests having breakfast between 08:00-09:00 am. During this time they seemed understaffed and struggling with keeping up with setting up the tables for new guest. However they still had a smile on their face and attended to the tables without utensils as soon as they were asked.
There is a coffee machine but if you wish to order a latte for breakfast it is extra.
