“This hotel's facilities and staff are top notch. We would definitely stay here again.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2011

My husband and I and our two children aged 18months and 3 have just returned to Sydney from a great 3-night stay at the Outrigger Little Hastings St. We initially wanted to book a 1-bedroom apartment but were advised that, even though our youngest would be in a portacot, we would need to book a 2-bedroom apartment, as per their max person-per-room policy. Thankfully, the person we spoke to on the telephone gave us a reduced rate on a 2-bedroom that was actually lower than the rates we'd seen on the net (we booked for mid-week stay outside QLD school holidays). Check-in was easy and bags were brought to our apartment quickly by a v friendly staff member, Pete. The portacot had already been set-up and the apartment was v clean. The apartment was a modern and lovely 2-bedroom loft style apartment w a rainforest view but was unfortunately unsuitable for us because of the stairs and balcony inside the apartment (we wanted somewhere the kids could run around without needed constant supervision). We phoned reception and requested a one-level 2-bedroom apartment and Simon at the front desk was very accommodating and said that one would be available in the morning. It was ready by 10am, and it suited us much better, plus it had a spa bath for the kids and two showers (the other apartment had two showers only). So, our advice would be to consider this option if you are traveling with kids under 5. The apartment also had a tv in each room, w Foxtel, a kitchen, laundry and big balcony w table and chairs and lounge chairs. Overall, we could not fault this apartment. Buffet breakfast had a great selection of hot and cold food and eggs made to order. We also dined in the hotel restaurant for dinner one night and the food was again of a very good standard, and the service, especially by Victoria, couldn't be faulted. We chose to have the main meal + glass of wine for $20 deal and, while the kids meal seemed somewhat expensive at first ($12 for kids spaghetti), the portion was adult sized and more than enough for both kids. We were v impressed with the restaurant as dining in Noosa is expensive and this hotel has quality food at a very reasonable price, especially when compared to most other hotels of this quality. We spent two rainy days killing time in Noosa and the heated pools (incl kids pool) and games room at the Outrigger certainly helped. We were also provided with umbrellas to use during our stay and taken to and from Little Hastings St by the hotel's golf buggy (the walk is however only 500 metres or so, but harder on the way back as it is uphill). This hotel's facilities and staff are top notch. We would definitely stay here again.

Booked on wotif and that maybe why we got the room overlooking the restaurant .perhaps it was the boxy room or the dirty crockery or was it the painful crooning from the restaurant so loud it could be heard with doors closed over the Tv . The receptionist seemed to care little and the duty manager cared less . If you are looking for a great stay in - choose again.

We stayed here for one night after our Fraser Island 4x4 tour and loved it. Beautiful newly built contempary apartments with plenty of space and every amenity you could wish for.
Very helpful staff and a short walk down / up to Noosa's Hastings St - the heart of the action.
Even though it's on a hill, don't expect a view, it's built into the rainforest. Gym and pools seemed a little small so may get busy in peak times, but were no problem whilst we were there. There's a spa and a small supermarket/bottle shop on site as well.

We've traveled a lot nationally and internationally over the years and never been so impressed by such friendly and helpful staff, beautifully decorated apartments, peaceful surrounds so close to so many restaurants, shops and of course the spectacular beach and national park. Every booking request was met. We received a very reasonable online rate. The bed was without a doubt the most comfortable we've encountered! Everything you would expect of a world class resort was there without any of the pretense. Though we enjoyed it as a couples getaway, we would definitely take the kids back as they too would love it!

Nice setting but ruined by a series of problems with poor service and poor furnishing and equipment.

We booked a 1 bedroom apartment for 4 nights. Having read reviews we phoned up to request a room facing the bush and were promised one. However, when we checked-in the room faced another appartment over some trees. I guess less than half of the 1 bedroom appts. face the bush and this can likely make a large difference to the experience.

The quality of service was very patchy. On the first night the TV remote was only found by looking down the side of the couch and one of the bedside lamps was out of order and had been turned of at the wall behind the bed. We complained to housekeeping but it did not get fixed until the third day.

The resort is about 500m from the main street and the beach - up a quite steep hill. There is supposed to be a golf-buggy shuttle service you can ring for until 10pm, but when called, he said he would be there in 1 minute and 15 minutes later he still hadn't come & it was decided to walk up the hill.

The front desk and concierge were quite offhand and unhelpful when asked for help with issues like the expensive wireless broadband that we couldn't get to work.

I found the bed very uncomfortable. It was nominally a king size bed, but actually it was two single beds zipped together and the zip was not properly covered or padded. We like to snuggle but then one or both of us would end-up sleeping in the gap containing the hard angular zip, which I found quite uncomfortable.

The bed was also too hard for me and the 100% nylon velour blankets not pleasant.

The electrical appliances were of poor quality. The TV in the lounge was an 81cm TCL with the volume limited such that I couldn't properly hear the sound on the DVD player. The DVD sound was not only too quiet (the TV sound was loud enough) but the DVD player produced muffled sound on the TCL TV. It and also failed to play one of our DVDs, but could play others in the series, which work fine elsewhere!?

The iPod dock on the stereo would cut out the sound periodically especially when the iPod was moved to change track etc.

If the service improves and you accept some limitations, the rooms are spacious, kitchen relatively well equipped.

The lap pool is nice and was heated to a good temperature, plus the sun shone on the lounges by the pool. But in summer maybe two pools for such a large resort is not enough.

However, if you do stay there and are up for a nice bush walk, you can get into the bush to Alexander Bay etc. by walking up the concrete buggy track and through the bush at the top of the resort. Turn left at the top of the road, right behind the telecom tower and then left 50m past the tower and you are in the national park - it can beat going down to the busy-ness of Noosa town if you're in the mood for the bush and A-bay.

Room Tip: Phone ahead for a room with a bush or ocean outlook, maybe ask to be close to the lap pool - hope th...

We had a two bedroom apartment for our family of four - two teenagers. Each bedroom had its own bathroom. Spacious, new, contemporary design, equipped with everything you need. Accommodation was 5 star. Breakfast was average. Resort appeared under staffed - no one there to greet you at breakfast. Short walk to Hastings Street - or catch the golf buggy. Lots of families with young children but only noticed this at breakfast times. Apartment was quiet and private. Easy free parking. Supermarkets quite a distance away. Would stay there again.

Enjoyed a relaxing weekend, comfortable 1 bedroom villa, Breakfast was excellent - only problem we encountered was that the tables needed clearing in the inside area - when we asked it was carried out. Can certainly recommend the "Day Spa". Will definatly stay there again!

Dear Bear1958_11, I enjoyed so much reading your positive review on your recent experience at the resort and I thank you for devoting your time to write this. I also liked the way you incorporated areas outside the resort like what to do if you are an early riser and head down to Hastings Street and the beach. We are all glad you enjoyed your Noosa visit and look forward to welcoming you back to Outrigger. Kindest regards, Alex Chapman, General Manager.
