“Loved our stay at Metzo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2009

Just returned after a very enjoyable stay at this lovely resort. New management just taken over last month - very friendly, professional and eager to tell us where to go and what to enjoy.

Our first impresson when opening the front door was a very nice surprise. We loved the openness of the unit with balconies front and back, lots of windows, comfortable large lounge, every amenity in the unit one could wish for, including large screen TV. It was not too far from the Woolworths supermarket and local shops and very close to the bus and ferry. We did hire a car whilst in Noosa as there are so many interesting things to see and do. Budget Rent-A-Car is within walking distance.

The pool was lovely, warm, clean and inviting, set in tropical gardens. A couple of times I heard children squealing poolside, as children, do, however if I closed the sliding door on the balcony, the noise was completely subdued. Must have double glazing?

Perhaps my only complaint was the lack of water pressure. Now I understand this may be only in the unit we occupied as obviously the owner of that unit has fitted it with a shower saver and in this time of drought it's completely understandable. I fully appreciate why it has been done. On mentioning this to another resident, she told me they had wonderful water pressure in their unit. So if I stayed again I would ask for a unit without shower saver.

We only stayed here for two nights but it was the base for a fantastic stay in Noosa. The location is ideal with Noosa River and the restaurant lined Gympie Terrace only a minute walk down the end of the street. Noosa Parade runs behind the properties and is fairly busy but not disruptive at all and has regular bus services to other parts of town.

The apartment itself was incredibly clean and modern and the management team at reception very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable.

Gympie Terrace has many restaurants and is away from the very busy Hastings Street. We had a fantastic riverside meal at Gusto which was incredible Mod Oz food and perfect service - highly recommended.

To explore Noosa and the surrounding areas, we hired bikes for an afternoon which was a great way to get around and there are many wide, well-marked cycle tracks to use on the roads. A nice ride is to go to Sunshine Beach for lunch at the Surf Life Saving Club and further down the coast to Peregian.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2008

We stayed at the Metzo at the beginning of September with 3 children aged 4.5yrs, 2.5 yrs and 15 mths. We had the only 3 bedroom apartment available in the complex (as we wanted the baby to sleep in her own room!)
The apartment was very modern, probably too modern for the ages of our children. It would suit a family with older children, or a group of adults. It was clean. The two things that I did not like about the apartment were firstly, the lack of furniture, mainly in the lounge area. It made the whole apartment echo and feel empty. There was only one L-shaped leather couch which didn't provide much seating. If you were staying here with other couples or more children, it would not be sufficient. We made friends with another family staying there and when they came over for dinner one night, we couldn't all sit down in the lounge! Whereas, when we went to their 2 bedroom apartment, it was much better! The second thing that I didn't like was that there was no lift to get to our apartment and with 3 kids plus suitcases, shopping, prams etc it was a real pain in the neck having to go up flights of steps.

The pool was great and was really warm!

The location of the apartment was good and only a couple of mins walk to Gympie Tce, which has loads of restaurants. It is also a nice walk along the river front, with a large playground at the very end. However, we did end up keeping our hire car, as we felt some things were just a bit too far away (supermarket, Hastings St etc) when having young children.

I would probably not stay here again, just due to the fact that our kids were too young for the style of apartment, especially the 3 bedroom. After speaking to some other families at the playground, there are other much suitable places in a better location, to suit our families needs.

  • Liked — The warm pool
  • Disliked — No lifts and lack of furniture in our apartment
