“Beautiful views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2013

Stayed here for one night (Fri 29th nov) but wish I had booked for longer, room was clean and bed was extremely comfortable. It was the balcony in our room that really made this a great stay, looking over the river, beautiful. We ate in the restaurant and had a lovely meal, the 2 waitresses working that night were both really friendly. We will definitely be back to make the most of this resort.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your comments after your visit.

It’s great to hear that your stay with us was an enjoyable one and we were able to meet your expectations both in accommodation provided and your experience in our Lakeside Restaurant. Please be assured that your positive feedback relating to the meal you enjoyed in the restaurant will most certainly be passed onto the teams concerned as I know that they will appreciate the recognition for their efforts.

Thank you again for the review.

My partner and I stayed at Karri Valley for 2 nights in a lakeside room, which appeared to have been recently redecorated and reasonably comfortable, but was still of average quality. We stayed in winter and it was very cold - just had a small heater to heat up the whole bedroom, and the bathroom was freezing. You want to book the restaurant in advance - the food is OK. The service was pretty bad - one person was particularly unhelpful and borderline rude. The forest, lake and variety of outdoor activities available are all absolutely amazing though, and the view from our balcony made up for everything (watch the mist roll over the lake in the morning). We had a fun stay - you don't spend that long in your room. Go for a walk around the lake, a paddle in a canoe, check out Beedelup Falls and the Gloucester Tree, and if you're feeling energetic walk the nearby 11km Warren River Loop.

Thank you for your review.

I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the surrounding forests and various bush walks, these are really beautiful during the winter months and the tall karri trees which tower over you are truly magnificent.

Your comment regarding the disappointing level of service you received in the restaurant is a concern and will certainly be addressed with the manager to investigate further as it sounds as though this shortcoming has put a dampener on your overall stay here with us and for this I apologise.

Thank you again for your feedback and hope you return to Karri Valley Resort soon.

This marks the third time stay to this place. I must say that the environment is just beautiful, full of nature. Ducks, birds, kangaroo, pony can be seen clearly amidst a very tranquil lake with forest walks and bedelup falls calling .. The rooms are nestled amongst the karri trees, our first few visitors being birds of the wild

The city part of me had a few grouces this time namely lack of any hand phone signals, lack of restaurant choices (only one), service staff was also not pleasant (even had language barriers in English which is soo strange in Australia) and generally too pricey.

Still, if return to nature was the main theme I would definitely return

Thank you for the review and it was great that you returned to enjoy the truly magnificent Karri Valley.

Your feedback in relation to the lack of mobile phone services and local restaurants is certainly a challenge. We continue to lobby local authorities and service providers in relation to the lack of a mobile phone network in the area, however we hope to have changes in the near future as we do with the opening of more restaurants.

The comments regarding your experience in the Lakeside Restaurant will certainly be reviewed and addressed accordingly as it appears that more training in some areas in required.

Many thanks for the review and we look forward to welcoming you back again very soon.

We are a family of 4, and stayed in a 2 bedroom chalet. We came across the resort last year by accident when we got lost on a trip from Margaret river to Albany. We passed the roadside sign and liked the look of the place and decided we would come back this year to try the place out. We booked a 2 night stay to begin with and thought we might extend if all was good. The booking process was painless and the staff were very positive. We arrived at about 4pm and checked in, we were not offered any information of the local area, only pointed toward the dvd rentals and restaurant. We made our way to our chalet and that was when the disappointment got us. When we opened the chalet door we were hit with an overwhelming musky/smoky smell, the inside of the chalet was tidy but very dated. When you book RESORT you think of that little bit extra, but not here. We were in a 4 berth chalet and it had a 2 seater lounge and a 20 year old t.v. no air conditioning/heating only a wood heater, but no wood in the wood box. It had obviously had some updating, down lights, ceiling fan etc. but must have run out of steam at that because the rest was so so. old utensils miss matched cookware and crockery. We also had no hot water for our entire stay, it was reported to the reception the day after we arrived, but was not rectified, and the partying group down the front made the first night a little sleep depraved as the sound carries right through the valley. It is a fantastic spot and could be that something special with a little updating and elbow grease. Hopefully things will be improved a bit in the future because we would love to come back again, but only if RESORT was lived up to. Otherwise maybe rename it Karri Valley Bush Retreat or Lake side Cabins.

My partner and self stayed here for our honeymoon for three nights and cant fault it. Being in our late thirties early forties it was a perfect place to simply relax and take in the view. Parrots greeted us everytime we walked out onto the balcony of our lakeside room, fishing at our doorstep, loads of activies if wanting.
Resturant food was delicious with no complaints from us. Recieved exactly what we wanted with a friendly smile. We ate in resturant on first night and ordered in house on second which also meeted our taste. Third night the menu had changed due to new chef and my god it was mouth watering. We also ate breakfast every morning and was always a variety of cereal fresh fruit yogurt pastries juices coffee tea and opion for hot food in which my partner loved the big breakfast each morning.

What can I say love this place differently going back at least once a year for a break even might take the kids as know they would love it.

You want pure nature with loads of relaxation go for it.

Thank you for taking the time to share your stay with us here at Karri Valley Resort.

Please be assured that your feedback will most certainly be passed into our team, as I know they will appreciate the recognition for their efforts, particularly our new Head Chef who has just implemented his Summer menu here at our Lakeside Restaurant.

Karri Valley and the surrounding Beedelup Forest is truly a magnificent location to switch off and unwind and it sounds as though you were able to take full advantage of this during your stay at the resort.

Many thanks for the review and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

We found the location excellent, rooms were spacious and spotless. The only downside was the restaurant. It was quite grubby and while the meals were enjoyable, the staff could do with more training but all in all a great place to wind down

My partner and I stayed at the karri valley resort for 2 nights for our anniversary. On our arrival we were greeted pleasantly and given lots of useful information about the area.

We had made a reservation at the restaurant on our first night. It was not busy that night but regardless of that, the waitresses seemed very confused. On multiple occasions they brought food out of the kitchen with no idea as to where it was going. They would stand together and confer for a while until finally coming to a unanimous decision and bringing it over. This happened multiple times.

Our bill came to $140 for the two of us. Given the waiting time on food, the frustration it caused us to watch the waitresses, and the overall food quality............!

I assume that because they don't have much competition in Pemberton they are able to maintain this poor standard. So on our second night we drove 30 minutes to the pub for dinner. We were very disappointed that having travelled all the way from Perth, we had to travel further for food.

On a lighter note, the rooms were very clean and the view was wonderful.

We are most disappointed to learn that we were not able to meet your expectations in the restaurant, particularly the overall level of service that was provided. Please be assured that your comments will be addressed with the Restaurant Manager and service team involved.

Training is ongoing here at the resort, unfortunately it appears that we will need to focus on communication during service within the team as your experience in the restaurant has certainly highlighted an improvement is required in this area.

Please accept our apologies for the shortcomings on this occasion, your feedback is valued and will certainly assist us in improving our guest
services for the future.
