“A long way from anywhere else”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

The Karri Forest Motel was our stop for the third night of our tour of Western Australia. Pemberton is pretty town, but it is a long way from anything else. The Karri Forest Motel was a little basic but our room was clean and the shower was hot. We had a nice dinner in the restaurant but the bar was very sparsley stocked.

The motel was a welcome sight after a long day of driving but we would have chosen a bit more upmarket if we had known the area better.

Arrived in Pemberton after 11pm and had no trouble using the after hours arrangements to get the keys to our room. Parking was clearly marked and immediately next to our room. Had a fantastic night's sleep - the bed was very comfortable - better than our own at home! Very quiet and peaceful. The shower was good with the hot water 'hot' and no running out. The restaurant had recently re-opened after a refurbishment and we enjoyed a tasty dinner there. Joe - the Manager - was friendly and helpful. All in all, this was good accomodation for a good price. We would recommend this to anyone.

Room Tip: Standard and luxury rooms very similar so go for the cheaper standard room.

When arriving we where informed the restaurant was closed. We were hoping for dinner. The room was dirty and when flushing the toilet water leaked over the bathroom. The room service came in the morning and asked if we wanted our room cleaned. We said yes. We informed her our milk and biscuits were out of date and was sour. She restocked it all on the tray and said the milk needs to be stored in the fridge. She bought us new towels and left the old wet flannel behind the door. She asked if we wanted our bed making, at this stage we wanted to get rid of her so we said no! When leaving we wanted to complain however there was no one available at reception. After leaving and checking our account we noticed they took a $150 bond without asking or telling us. Won't stay here again!

Do not use this motel, it was very shabby and run down, the mattresses slid off the beds and the room was dark and furnishings extremely dated plus gardens were a mess. I would not recommend anyone to stay here.

I've stayed here a few times with my partner the room we had was very clean the staff are friendly and the gardens are breath taking we found the service fantastic and i especially loved the pool area where we could relax and have a bbq at the same time not to mention the gym facilities were more than enough well worth the money we spent :-)

What tremendous value fo the money. Having spent the last 2 months touring from Brisbane through NSW, Victoria, SA and now Western Australia this is by far the best yet. The accommodation was perfect, lacking nothing, and the service exceptional. Yes the pool might not be huge but after a very hot day sightseeing it was just bliss. It was a last minute decision to stay in Pemberton but we were very glad we did as there was loads to see and do in the area as well as a great place to stay. We will certainly recommend Karri Forest to family and friends.

Good comfortable accommodation, room was clean, well equipped with a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities. There was even a toaster, plenty of crockery and a most welcome air conditioner. The pool was great, not huge but inviting. Only disappointment was that the restaurant was closed on the night of our stay so may be worth ringing ahead to check. Did not use the gym but this was due to lack of time.breakfast was available at a very reasonable rate.
Will stay there again.
