...including the staff.
check in was efficient but without a smile or any welcoming information. the interior of the room was equally dull, towels and sheets were bleached out and permanently stained, the blanket has some holes and questionable stains on them !!!
the lounge was worn out and there was only one chair in the room, making meal consumption a juggling act.
the balcony was tiny and lacking privacy but allowed for views of the river, which was nice, however a nearby building site operating from 7-19.00hrs put a damper on things due to the noise level.
on that subject.... the walls in this hotel are paper thin!!!
the breakfast and dinner menu sounded appetising and very reasonably priced for Perth's current overpriced gastronomy scene, as i haven't tried anything from the menu i cannot comment on the quality of the food. the hotel also provides a 'pantry shopping' service, mostly breakfast fare can be ordered and delivered to your room by 17.00hrs for the next day, orders have to be in by 10.00hrs which makes it useless for the first day as check in is from 14.00hrs onwards.
Parking was underground and free of charge on a first come first served basis but not recommended for 4WD, very tight spaces.
in the bathroom was a note to advise patrons of the waterwise towel policy ( you know the deal... leave on the floor if you want it changed, hang up if re-use, conserve water etc), which is a great, but the toilet didn't have a dual flush option, kinda negates the effects of water saving. ventilation in the bathroom was non existent, allowing for mould to grow around the tiles.
would i stay here again... nope!
