“Mum staying with two kids”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2012

I took my two kids 7 and an 8 year old to stay here for three nights and I even rang before I went to confirm what they had there for kids as I had read some of the reviews. Upon arriving they told me that the only way to access the wifi was in reception or in the restaurant (was not told this on the phone). The very small "playground" that was mentioned is inside the restaurant grounds. (This wasn't mentioned on the phone either) The mini golf is one patch of green grass with about 8 holes in it. It also said on the website that there was nintendo hire (as it was in wet weather that we went) and they told me they haven't had that for ages. There was no dvd player in the room and we could only get one kids channel on the television. We did use the 'heated' pool twice however then we couldn't get warm as the heater in the room just did not seem to work properly. I had no issue with the room cleanliness etc and if I had been better informed could have taken some more games etc for my kids or the laptop instead of the Ipad to play movies on. I was told that the villa I was paying for was 'stand alone' however it was joined to another one and I could hear everything the people next door were doing (including going to the toilet) The games room off reception costs money for each game as well. We ended up leaving two nights early and no refund would be given as I didn't give 48 hours cancellation notice. I think it would be ok to stay here in summer with the beach etc however if you are wanting a cheap all inclusive holiday with the kids then I would reconsider this one. I wasn't happy with it at all.

My husband and I stayed with our 7 year old for three nights on a family package in a two bedroom villa and thought it was great value.

Yes, the rooms are not bang up to date with decor or new tv etc but ours was really clean and had everything we wanted. The surrounds are lovely and green and all the leisure facilities as well as direct beach access make it a great choice.

It was a very pleasant stay and the staff were excellent - all friendly and helpful.

We would stay here again.

Recently stayed here for a wedding, it was fantastic, bride & groom married on the lawn by the beach then the reception was held in the resorts ball room, so no one had to drive and we got to catch up with family for a few days. Fantastic having the restaurant there too. Will definately come back.

We spent 3 nights in a unit in March 2012, we found it to be clean, spacious & had everything we required, full size kitchen was great & we had a nice bbq area close by which we used several times, the indoor heated pool was a bonus if the weather was a bit cool for the outdoor one. The grounds were well kept, with lots of ducks around the place, it was great to be only a couple of minutes walk to a beautiful beach. This park seemed to be very family friendly, also had tennis courts, mini golf & a decent sized games room. We would definately stay here again, it was the best value for money out of the six places we stayed at on our W.A holiday.

We traveled as a couple but the facilities are especially great for a family. Nice grounds with tennis, mini golf, squash, put put etc, indoor and outdoor pools and a minute from the beach. We stayed in a resort room which offered basic, functional accommodation at a reasonable price, compared to the mainly inflated accommodation prices down in the south west of Western Australia. Sorry SW hoteliers but little wonder so many travel to Asia seeking value for money. Even compared to the Sunshine and Gold Coasts, Batemans Bay, Lakes Entrance, Coffs Harbour and even Port Douglas for that matter, SW accommodation is expensive!!!

So it was nice to find something that, for a couple, was affordable.

Our Bayview room was fairly basic and a bit tired but you do get what you pay for. Staff friendly. Would vist again.

Room Tip: If you can afford it and are traveling as a family go for a two bedroom, fully self contained villa...

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2012 via mobile

We have stayed here numerous times over the past 6 or 7 years,in January,October and at Easter. It's a top spot: indoor and outdoor pools, spacious grounds, solid brick and tile houses with aircon and spa baths and fronting right onto a beautiful beach. We rarely see the kids for hours on end - they zoom about on scooters making new friends, swim in the pools, jump on the bouncy castle, fossick on the beach etc. They also live the kids club run by Laureen (and free). The quality of the food at the cafe (Spinnakers) has gone up and down over the years and we haven't tried it this time. Staff are friendly and helpful, houses are clean and the place never feels crowded even in peak season. The BBQs are curiously basic and long in need of an upgrade. Rates are generally negotiable and particularly good value in the October school holidays. Highly recommended.

overall an ok stay.
the resort itself has greta tennis courts, excellent grounds with bbq facilities though one looked like it was ready for the tip.the villa itself is huge with a relaxed outdoor area. my gripes are that the television is old with vcr ??? and small (lcd tv with dvd player) (i dont expect to rent a dvd player) there was also no oven to cook some chips or heat up a meat pie for a 3 night stay.
i had to use the electrtic fry pan to heat up the pies and ended up burning my hand.
the rest of the villa inside was excellent and clean but really you need to supply at least more than one tea towel.
the drier was too low for the wshing machine lid to stay up.
the outdoor pool was a nono as there was always ducks in there with feathers floating around the pool. (surley someone can clean it every so often per day)
indoor pool was great but a little small for a huge resort and not shallow for young ones.
also filled in the question sheet but no reply was sent hence this report
if they refurbished the villas this would be an excellent resort (oven tv dvd)
for the moment i would spend the extra 200.00 and stay at the abbey like last year
.

Room Tip: any villa is good

Dear Guest

Thanks for taking the time to let us know your thoughts regarding your recent stay with us.
We appreciate your comments as it gives us and understanding of your experience and also gives us the opportunity ti identify areas that may need to be improved upon.

We have made a note of your comments regarding the television and DVD player and these are items that we are looking at upgrading in the near future. With regards to there not being an oven these particular villas do not have however we do have 3 bedroom 3 bathroom villas available that are fully self contained.

In regards to additional linen we do replenish any linen items free of charge on request. These items are available from reception from 7am to 7pm or housekeeping are more than happy to deliver to your room between the hours of 7am and 3pm.

We ackwoledge that the ducks around the pool is an issue as a member of our maintenance team does clean the pool every day and this does take a number of hours. It is a frustration which we share with you and we are actively trying to resolve this issue.

With regards to the depth of the indoor pool we have created a shallow end in th
e outdoor pool wihich is covered by a shade sail to protect children from the sun as the indoor pool tends to cater more for people who perhaps like to swim a few laps or go for a casual swim.

It disappoints us that you experience whilst staying with us was not as enjoyable as it could have been however we would greatly appreciate the opportunity to redeem ourselves when you are next visiting the region.

Thank you once again and would like to express our sincere apologies.

Kind regards
