“Not too bad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

The apartments are clean and serviceable with huge spa baths. Tip if you have young children start running the bath at the start of dinner so that it's full enough by the time they have finished eating!
Our apartment was right near the undercover gated playground which was fantastic for the times we were kicking back at the motel after day trips.
My only quibble would be with the daily servicing. They only make the beds. they don't tidy the towels or wipe down the kitchen table or benches which I think would have been a nice touch.
Had breakfast in their restaurant one morning. We were the only ones in there which felt odd, but the food was quick and hot if not a little boring. But my advice is to head into town for breakfast in York st which is a super quick drive or a very long walk with a 3 1/2 year old!

Room Tip: If you have kids ask for close to the playground

Stayed one night in a 1brm unit. Large separate bedroom & bathroom. Internet, gas heater, ceiling fan, reverse cycle aircon, fax machine, minibar, undercover carport. Staff were very helpful & friendly. Only negative was the sofa in the living area. Small & uncomfortable. Would stay again though.

Stayed here for 2 nights on a weekend visit in a 2 bedroom unit with a spa. Rooms large and very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would use the motel again when in the area. Located 5 minutes drive from the city centre. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The kitchen was fitted with everything you could need to prepare your own meals if you want to or there is a licensed restaurant on the premises. Booked online and then received a confirmation email and phone call before arrival.

The units were adequately furnished but the location and basic facilities were really poor. I agree with previous poster that this place is good for sleeping but that's it.
No swimming pool or resort stuff.

If you just need a place to sleep and basically sit and watch limited TV then this is the place for you.

The motel consists of a number of individual units each with a carport. The unit we had was 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, equipped kitchen and sitting and dining area. The furnishings were OK and the unit and areas around were clean. There is also an on site pay laundry and expensive Wi-Fi.

Soaps and shampoos are provided but not enough for the number of people the rooms accommodate. So we had to hunt down the housekeeping lady and ask for more. Power to the unit is supplied by a plug in device that is attached to your unit key. In the unit you plug it in half way, you get lights - the whole way you get electrical power - unplug it as you want to leave the unit and go out, no power so anything plugged in - forget it. (I suspect the refrigerator remains on). Also the refrigerator is stocked by the motel with beers, soft drinks, chips, nuts etc. These are chargeable and take up space, so there is not much space in the fridge for your personal stuff.

However once you have settled in and want to do something - there is NOTHING in the 'resort' that can keep you there. There is a kids play-area (for very small kids) and BBQ. No swimming pool.

Do not think you can take a stroll in the gardens as they are advertised - there aren't any. City Center is very close by car (about 2 minutes and walking is about 15-20 mins) The motel is situated on a major highway in an industrial area. So beware if you want to walk to restaurants, shops etc. (especially after 5pm). Did not try the restaurant on site.
